Deana 2004-09-18 . chapter 7ROTFL! That chapter was hysterical! I was picturing Legolas in my mind...ROTFL! ;) |
Lutris 2004-03-30 . chapter 11 I loved this story! It's nice to see such a nice little Legolas!
Thilómë's choice was for the best, but I think it was rather hard for her to do so.
I love the way this story ends! And I also really liked all the devotion Thranduil and Thilómë have for each other.

farflung 2004-01-23 . chapter 12I will definitely read and review your new sequel. It probably isn't exactly new by now but it will be new to me. Thanx. |
farflung 2004-01-23 . chapter 11Nice bedroom scene. Romantic and loving. She can just sink into security now that she's made her decision and is staying.
Legolas and Earendil and the boat. It is going to take a lot of reassurance for the elfling. Naneth really frightened him with the news of leaving and not coming back. Shook his sense of security.
That was such a nice conversation with Alandil. He was the first and received the strongst share of his parents fea. And he has done well in her eyes. Can't do much better that make your parents happy as long as you are happy too.
Great ending. Alandil is her joy, Legolas her devotion, and Thranduil her love. And that's enough for now. She needs elven Prozac. She is a classic case of depression. Poor she elf.
That was a lovely tale. I enjoyed it very much.
Thanx for all the hard work that went into it for us, your readers. I look forward to the sequel. |
farflung 2004-01-22 . chapter 10Cold and rainy weather. Wretched weather for a wretched elf. Bon Voyage Galdor. Smirk.
Yes you do have to share with your children. They will sense something is amiss and many times will blame themselves. They are part of this decision also.
She can't leave. How could a mother if given a choice? Just not a possibility. Intellectualy you can but not in your heart. What kind of peace could you have without your family. Is there love? Not without them so she has to stay.
I realize that she is giving up a lot to stay but that is what mothers do. In giving they gain. You can't really be a mother until you can do this. Not fair to your child and eventually not fair to you.
Thanx for a sad yet happy chapter. SOB!! |
farflung 2004-01-22 . chapter 9Thilome waking alone for who knows how many centuries, maybe even millenia. Not a very happy thought.
Actually Legolas does need a nursemaid to take some of the everyday burden from Thilome. She has only so much to give and being responsible for Legolas is a big job for Alandil. I suppose she feels that having been given a chance at another elfling she wants to do all for him.
Mornings. Is there anybody who favors this time of the day? If anyone answers yes please stay away from my house. We aren't even coherent till ten AM.
Oh now half dressed and shrieking in his outside voice I am sure he's off. I am so afraid of where he is going.
I was right. Straight to ada and the big fancy breakfast.
That Galdor. What a poor excuse for an elf. Self absorbed, stuck up, self promoting ninny that is what he is.
Let's face it wood elves don't have the best reputation in Middle Earth. Just ask the good professor. He saddled them with it. I still prefer wood elves to the political machinations and maneuverings of Galadriel and Elrond and other realms. Give me the simple forest life everytime.
I loved Legolas' little song. And yes water would be very effective on this Balrog. A dripping wet Alandil would be quite a sight.
Lovely elfling again. You can't go wrong there. Thanx. |
farflung 2004-01-22 . chapter 8I would think that every elf would know when you leave you never come back but perhaps Thilome's thinking isn't too clear right now. This is a really hard decision to make. You have to be in extremis to leave your children at any age but when Legolas is so tiny and needy still it seems it would be impossible.
Lovely picture of the two brothers asleep in a chair together. Sleeping with his eyes closed, how unelflike. The king trying not to measure him against his older brother, to look past current problems to his future. He is still a joy to them, one they need to cherish. There can be happiness in small pleasures, small gains also.
Thilome is in a troublesome state. She sleeps with her eyes closed also. Her spirit is still weak. I don't know what Tolkien says about this, if in time a person can strengthen their fea. If so Thilome could stay and just do everything to make her fea strong again.
She feels it would be like dying. Some fans think that fading into the west is a euphimism for dying. I suppose they think you can't have a heaven without dying. Tolkien was very clear that this was a place of peace, rest and healing for immortal elves.
Very sad situation and such a very hard choice for Thilome to make.
Thanx for another angsty chapter. You give the elves real personalities and problems. Usually writers make them a little too human but I don't feel that way about your family of Thranduil. |
farflung 2004-01-22 . chapter 7That hunting day in good weather was a great day for Alandil before he overheard a conversation not meant for his ears.
As far as the council meeting at least it stopped being boring.
Could this elfling get any more adorable? I think not.
Thanx for the image of cross eyed, tongue out, finger on nose Legolas. |
