Slow beginning, but the end of Ch. 3 came way too fast! You don't see a lot of slashfics dealing with intolerance, and this one is so realistic. The anti-gay atmosphere you describe is, sadly, like the one I experience every day in my small town.

Very curious to learn what happened to Jack and David. Also, I love stories about couples from a third char's point of view. This is a good one. Thank you for sharing it!

Hmm. I don't particularly like Les, but that was good. It was also kinda weird to read him all grown up. Heh. I guess I always just see Les as an annoying little kid.

Im happy you put in the jews bit becouse I am a jew and when i went to jewish camp and we performed newsies (hence the beinging of the obsesion)they made sure it was obvious that the family was jewish. *Smiles* As I told you before, this is still so, so awesome. I still really like the voice of the story; it honestly sounds like an old, reflective man would speak of his past. And I love the way you're setting up the story, piece by piece, and the way you add in little details, (i.e. David's parents' reactions to their neighbor, the kids who taunted David and Les, and the scandal over Medda's dancer, among other things) that really give the story originality and flavor while contributing to its realism, which is definitely your greatest accomplishment in this story. Awesome, amazing job, as usual. I can't wait to read more.

You know what, Shimmers-baby? This was one of the first Newsies fics I ever read, if not THE first, way the hell back in February, before I even had an ff.net account. That's just...really weird to me. 0_0 Anyways, I don't know why I never reviewed it, as I love it. Because I do.

Les is so cute. He's sweet and wise and everything a good Les should be. Jack is charming, as always, and the stuff that is said by his parents and everything is a very good, realistic touch.

You're very talented my dear, and I'm glad to see an update for this. ^_^

Les's perspective is, as always, fabulous. Especially at the end, where he reflects on how he thought David was mad because he was using a dirty word. Poor kid.

Wow. I'll admit, most of your work is a bit too fluffy for me to really sit down and read, but by God, that was fantastic.. This is only the third time I've ever been so enthralled with a fanfic that I was craving the next chapter (the first being Terry Matthews' "Child of Darkness" and the second being dovielr's "Staffroom Seduction", both multi-part epics and the second being slash.) to the point where I had to make up for there not being one by eating chocolates. (can't spell Godiva without "God")

In any case if there were any errors, they were either too minor for my functional but inferior brain to catch, or I was too mesmerized by the storytelling (which is also absolutely superlative*). Or there weren't any.

I adore the concept and I'm anxiously awaiting your next installment.
