Just to let you know, this is among my favorite three A/S fic. I adore the angle that he takes, almost mad in his desire to repent and seeking forgiveness. Reading as he wishes so hard that things could be as they once were, and knowing equally well that they never can be, the references to season 4 and to Spike's soul, are all beautiful and I loved it. I think my favorite line was "Make him mine, make him mine again, give me back my wayward childe." It's a plea that I find breathtaking, knowing what Angel does, and knowing what he knows that Spike does - and even worse, what can be assumed to happen in the morning when he leaves once more, not wanting to hurt his childe any further, but doing so all the more. Truly, this is a wonderful fic and I can't imagine why there aren't more reviews for it. Your lyrical writing astounds me. ^_^
