real emotional and visual..luv the way max stayed in character..and the baby was a sweet touch. i read this before..and don't remember if i reviewed it or not..if so, oh well, here's two..
your writing style is very good. i only have one itsy bitsy nitpick.

i don't know if you know this, and you were probably going for the fact that max is a new mother, who didn't have books to follow or advice to listen to, but you're not suppose to give cow's milk to an infant..it upsets their stomach..formula or breast milk are the safe routes..but again, it's a small thing, it didn't affect the great quality of the story.
