I really enjoyed this story! It was a lovely highlighting of the cultural differences between Lane and Dave, but it also worked on the level of contrasting Lane, who wants to be 100% American, and Lane, who grew up with Korean parents. I thought your inclusion of Mrs. Kim's opinions on chopsticks was really well done. Thanks for writing and sharing!

I really liked the simple fact that this is a Lane/Dave story, 'cause I think he is just keen, with good hair, too. It had a really sweet ending, but I wish it hadn't ended so. I wish it hadn't ended at all! There's so much other 'stuff' that is going on with the Lane/Dave thing. I can't even get into it. But think about all the stuff that comes with being a different race in a virtually white town. and your boyfriend is white. why did he pick you when you're not *that* kind of pretty? I know you've already stopped, but I know you can do something really special and unique with what you've got. You could show how love affects all sorts of things unrelated to love.
