Kasman 2004-08-20 . chapter 11Very enjoyable finish. Nice fight scene and good work on the newsflash. |
intodust 2004-08-16 . chapter 11Very enjoyable chapter! I liked how you wrapped everything up in a style very true to the show. I hope to read more from you soon :). |
Kyre 2004-08-15 . chapter 11Woohoo, I'm glad you were finally able to finish this. Lots of loose ends neatly tied up. :)
Parts I like:
--The sneaky call
--The fight scene with both Logan and Max participating
--The image of Max squealing off on her motorcycle
--The police investigation of the market area (how often do we see followup like this to solved crimes?)
--Logan dressing up to show Max how much he'd missed her
Now that you've finished the "Logan Cale, Man of Action" request, I look forward to more S1 fic from you! |
M/L Only 2004-08-15 . chapter 11Great finish to an extremely enjoyable story! Loved the fight scene in the carpark! I'm definitely looking forward to other ones from you:):) |
Californiablue 2004-06-15 . chapter 10This story is great but this cliffhanger has been hanging forever! I hope you finish this story soon. |
lilmouse 2004-02-19 . chapter 1Thoroughly enjoying your writing! And so many stories to catch up with! Thank you! |
 Kyre 2004-01-26 . chapter 10Woohoo, finally a new chapter!
I'm not sure why Logan would feel like Lux was vibrating...he's not touching her, is he?
Hee! I can just imagine Bennett's internal reaction on seeing Logan talking to a couple of Steelheads.
I like how you have Bennett overhear a Lux/Lemkin conversation and clue in to Logan's connection to them. His wording feels a little bit artificial, though, like Bennett is just serving as a means of letting Logan and the reader eavesdrop on the conversation. In real life, I think a person would be more likely to say (for example), "He was talking to his sister and it turns out she's that Steelhead woman you introduced me to! She was telling him about some files that got stolen." Of course, that wouldn't reveal to the reader exactly how much Bennett overheard. I guess it's hard to find that balance.
Bennett seems to be as inquisitive as Logan is. :) The only thing that makes Bennett agree to remain in the dark is a reference to Marianne, and I like that.
LOVE the cliffhanger! Eagerly awaiting the next chapter. |
Kasman 2004-01-25 . chapter 10You already know what I think, but I'm still here to add a well done :). |
M/L Only 2004-01-24 . chapter 10Exciting finish! I hope you wont take too long to undate. This is an excellent story!! |
Kyre 2003-11-02 . chapter 9I like the thought of Eyes Only having been after Lemkin for years. It sort of reinforces the extent of corruption and general evildoing in Seattle's post-Pulse era.
I'm not sure I can see Bennett saying "Thank goodness" or "the little boys' room." I don't think I know any men who say the phrase, especially young guys. But maybe it's just me. :)
Love the descriptions of Lemkin's house, furnishings, and guests.
"My pleasure, Mr. Cale. If you spend the big bucks to attend one of my little charity functions, I do my best to accommodate you in any way I can."
This is very well done - makes me want to gag at Lemkin's phoniness. And I can just imagine the scene as he schmoozes his way through the room.
"He hoped that the Seattle PD would provide Step Three, the arrest of Pierpont Lemkin. And he hoped it would be soon."
Hey, maybe Lemkin will get arrested at his own party. This reminds me of a Doonesbury strip I saw once. A man turned himself in to the SEC, and the investigator told him, "[My bosses] would prefer to arrest you in front of your colleagues." (His sarcastic response was, "Well, why don't you just wait 'til the office party?")
Hee! Lux and Eddie meeting up with Logan at the party. Hope you post the continuance of this scene soon. |
WyldeGod 2003-10-15 . chapter 9Another clever chapter here. Well done. You've kept it smooth and flowing perfectly from the beginning to the end.
From Bennett's questioning of the bullet holes through the moment when Logan meets Lempkin and is 'already predatory smile' to the end when Brit Eddie and Lux find Logan on the balcony catching a moment of peace away from the crowds he so dislikes.
I like this chapter and look forward to the next one. Can't wait to see what British Eddie has in store for Logan or how Logan handles it... Great chapter, Catherder, as per your usual! |
Kasman 2003-10-14 . chapter 9So...Logan is in enemy territory here. What're Eddie and Lux and Lemkin gonna do next? Good work. |
akischo 2003-10-14 . chapter 9good chapter. you make me curious what happens next. can't wait to see more:-) |
MrAndyPuppy 2003-09-13 . chapter 8Well done... if this story continues the way it has begun, it's going to be an awesome fic.
The way you use existing facts, people and places works extremely well to integrate this story into the rest of the Dark Angel universe.
The mannerisms of people, particularly Logan and Max, feels spot on (although I have to admit I was waiting for Sketchy to have done something particularly stupid in that stakeout).
This is definitely one of those stories that will blend and blur into the Dark Angel mythos I have stirring around in my head - unlike other fics I have written where they don't meld and so stand alone, Steel Trap feels like it's part of the main canon.
VERY keen to see what you do with it next - you have a few things happening now that have got me wondering "where to now?" |
 Kyre 2003-08-27 . chapter 8As always, I'm happy to see a workout...just wish I had MW exercising onscreen. ;)
Can't wait to see Lempkin's reaction to the hack.
“Yeah, well, sector police aren’t picked for their smarts, just their enthusiasm for the job.”
--Good line, and a true one, too.
Hee...Logan having to come up with different excuses for his battered appearance...*giggle*
Hm...here's a thought...if the exo hadn't busted, would Logan have worn it to the party? He'd either have to reveal its existence to Bennet or else go without.
I find it a little hard to believe Bennet would hear that Logan was randomly shot at and not react in any way except to disparage the car. But I LOVE the subsequent conversation. I can just imagine two guys saying that, and it made me laugh. :) |
