This is quite a work. Interesting and well written. I understand why you chose to make certain characters younger, but...uhhm...35 isn't old :)
Anyway, only crit I can think of off hand is the very distracting Al Bhed in the middle. But I saw that you chose to add the translations into the text later, so that was a bit of a relief.
Hope ye olde writer's block gives up one day.

just read the first chapter its so hard to find a good ffx fic i was originally looking for a yuna/tidus fic but this one caught my eye, so far i like it even tho ive only read the first chapter, ill continue reading if u continue updateing...well unless uve finished the story, like i said ive only gotten to the first chapter lol happy writing!

Wow, this is good-no, great! Just as excellent as "The Bitter Dawn", if not more so! Took me a long time to read the whole thing. Would've reviewed sooner, but I came down with a pretty bad headache around Chapter 12 (probably from prolonged staring at the screen) and had to duck out 'til morning. I feel sorry for Lesca-first her parents, then her husband, then her son... yeesh, if something like that ever happened to me, I'd probably do the same thing.
I'll be waiting for the next update, so be quick about it!
One more thing I have to say... if Seymour weren't a figment of imagination, I'd probably kill him, first gouging out his eyes, rip his tongue out, incinerate certain outer extremities I'd rather not mention with a 'Firaga' spell, then chopping off his fingers... One. By. One. Then, I'd skin him alive with a rusty knife, toss him into a large pile of salt, let him sit a few minutes, then pour more salt on. After a few more tortures I *might* show some mercy and let Yuna send him (or what's left) to the Farplane. Yeah, I'm that mad at him for what he did to Lesca.
That's how good your character development was. You actually made me despise Seymour for doing that to Lesca. Before now, I was just annoyed by him, his horrible hairdo, his ridiculous clothes, and his insane plots. Now I despise him. I'm starting a new game of FFX just so I can pummel him senseless. I'll save a game right outside Macalania Temple so I can kill him again... and again... and again... you get the picture, right?
Anyways, I'm building up a head of steam now, so I'd better stop this before this becomes an hour-long rant about the billion cruel, inhumane, very painful tortures I'd like to inflict on the bastard. One last time: Excellent story, and continue A.S.A.P!
