Bugsquirt 5/24/12 . chapter 5What's up with your over-usage of the expression "sigh," "sighing," and "softly sigh?" If you do word counts in each of your chapters in this trilogy, you'll come up with numerous hits. Some chapters are much worse than others.
As this trilogy is about a decade old, I'm sure you've improved your writing since then, and you have come up with more creative, better implemented expressions. But overall, I'm impressed with your writing ability. However, your propensity to put Buffy into situations of torture and/or mind control in all your Buffy stories is... odd. I believe that you over-play the "angst" a bit, which thematically breaks from the original universe/material.
I'll have to keep reading, I suppose, though. Your characterizations are great, and you move the plot along well while still managing to keep the plot somewhat clever instead of resorting to cheap "power-ups" to resolve plotlines. I hope I don't have to recant that last line after finishing this trilogy, though. |
Angelholme 2/9/12 . chapter 31Wow. Another well written and fun to read story (even given the subject matter in places). I enjoyed it as much as the previous one, and am now looking forward to the third! |
 KoiGirlPGSM 8/2/11 . chapter 31cool |
 Loki 6/22/11 . chapter 31 Great story! |
Joe Lawyer 3/17/11 . chapter 17I think you've got a very nice integration of the two mythologies in this story. I've only read one other Harry/Buffy crossover which did as well. The characters certainly have their share of emotional baggage and the beginnings of their relationship also feels very natural. Shared pain and all that. And I'm impressed that you've let it develop so slowly and gradually. Fan fiction authors tend to rush into those pairings, I've found, without sufficient time for any kind of realistic relationship to form.
I do apologize for my previous review concerning Harry and his war time rules of engagement or lack thereof. I tend to not notice that the publishing date obviously has an effect on the story's makeup. Even with stories written in 2009-present I still see that kind of unrealistic war time fighting. It's something that greatly frustrates me everytime I read it, but I can certainly understand why in 2003 this story took that approach. I do think that without the death of Sirius in the fifth book and the stunning/revivals that occurred in the DOM, Harry would be reluctant to take a life. So I again apologize if I upset you and didn't take that into account when I wrote my review. |
Joe Lawyer 3/16/11 . chapter 15I think it's mentioned numerous times in canon that wizards come of age and are adults at the age of 17. Sp Harry is already an adult in the wizarding world.
Second, they are in the middle of a long protracted war what kind of retarded idiot is Harry disarming and stunning opponents. This isn't a game. This is war and you kill your enemies. You even mention obliviating and turning over these death eaters to the ministry...yet just last chapter you said the ministry has been compromised. WTF! So will they just end up being released? Or will they be broken out of jail like after the DOM fiasco in the fifth book? If the light side here doesn't kill their enemies than maybe they should just give up because they've almost certainly lost the war already. Ridiculous! |
burtikus 11/24/10 . chapter 31Just found this fic nearly 7 years later, and quite enjoyed it. It's funny how different the HP-verse was back then... now your Harry comes off as a complete weakling, throwing 2nd year hexes at dark wizards. But nonetheless, the story itself held up just fine. Good fic, and thanks. |
natinicoletti 8/4/10 . chapter 31Love your story! Thank you all the good time I had reading it! |
eac 7/4/10 . chapter 4 logic and an understand of the human psyche are obviously not your strong suits. |
blah 6/11/10 . chapter 17 this just kind of sucks. Harry's kind of like he is in the book, retard, stupid, follower... if I wanted to read this. I'd go reread the books. Throw something fun in here. |
 Lahmikhara 11/25/09 . chapter 31great work I loved the story ˆˆ |
too tireed to think 7/12/09 . chapter 31 Well great story once again. Oh wait I don't think I reviewed the last one. Wait yes I did. Anyway. Your superb mind has once again came up with a way to keep me captivated long enough to read this great fanfic. (Does any one think of tony the tiger when they saw that.) Back on topic I'm off to read the third of your series. |
 Selene Appia 7/8/09 . chapter 31Great. I love the Harry/Buffy interaction. |
 brolly501 6/6/08 . chapter 31amazing story loved it |
faeriesinger 12/6/07 . chapter 31Ok. Very quick review time because I just spent my getting ready for work time reading your story. A very good story. I really liked it. It was a twist that I hadn't really encountered before. And bringing Jarod in the mix was great. I did read teh first one first, but was too tired to review. Your stories are so bad for me! Because they're so very good. Keep it up, I'm gonna read more later! |
