great story

Amazing, absolutely amazing! A not-too-long story on the life of Severus Snape outside of Hogwarts. Ah, Voldie is dead and Severus is on a somewhat civil term. Life is good haha!
Oh, did I mention that you are a wonderful writer.

Words fail me so I won't try and babble meaningless nonsense about how amazing this story is- 'cause that's how amazing it is. I haven't checked your profile to see if you have written or started a sequel but if you haven't, PLEASE DO SO!

This was an amazing story. I loved how Snapes family were actually developed, and not just random people dotted in here and there. I also loved the setting, being a kiwi myself (an Aucklander, but some call us Jafa's) I love reading about Harry in my home country. I was wondering one thing though, where in NZ was this story set. I managed to figure out it was some where in the South Island, probably by the southern alps, but as my geography's not very good I can't actually figure out where. I loved Chads character by the way, he was really cool. Also I loved the myth of the Taniwha, I have grown up around Taniwha myths, Mum's whanau came from Te Awamutu, a town in the Waikato so every time we went to visit them and drive down the Waikato river Mum would tell us stories of the Taniwha, usually to make us behave but sometimes to make us stop being bored.

Sorry, I really need to stop rambling on, I have picked up this habit from a friend who always rambles. Sorry just did it again.

Anyway loved the story, now am going to read the others.

This is the only story I've ever read where I was extremely disappointed to see Sirius Black enter the picture.

I loved the setting, and the original characters and magic and mythology. The story-telling was brilliant, all the New Zealand quirks were present and accounted for (those I know from working with a New Zealand native for a few months), and the characters...

I'm rambling. I adore this story, and loved reading it. This version of Snape's history (especially the touches with Lily) is much better than canon, and every original character fits in perfectly. Voldemort was squick, but that's to be expected. Helen and Rona and Chad and Wiri and Solly and Maman (and Eru and anyone I forgot) were lovely, and it's always a pleasure to see Harry have a good summer(/winter).

THAT WAS FREAKING AMAZING! Funny, interesting, dramatic, angsty, and scary at the same time! Damn that was a good story. Wow. There are TWO sequels! I AM IN LOVE WITH YOU! Well I'm off to read them now. Ta!

well... nice fic. well written, the characters are well thought out... BUT ^^ that thing with helen seems a teeny weeny little bit disturbing to me... where is the borderline of **? is it rather like someone lived as an animagus his whole life up to that point? with magic, one can't really say... well as I said, seems a little bit disturbing to me... but all in all, I really liked it.

great story i loved how snape got to be happy in the end though i figured out he was related to grandmother since she let him in to her water.

Original story. I enjoyed reading it. Love the mythology and forces even beyond magic invoked. Yay for Helen and Taniwha.

I'm an expat NZer too. I've been listening to a lot of Kiwi music lately - it seems my ears have been craving the sounds of home.
Anyway, I was listening to "Dirty Creature" and reminiscing about the time production on State Highway 1 was halted/diverted because of the taniwha - remember that? Ah, good times. And then later on I found this fic! Truly a taniwha-filled day for me.

By the way, I read your profile text and oh my gosh, how much do I miss NZ chocolate! My friend (also a Kiwi) got a package from home the other day and excitedly called me over : pineapple lumps! Black forest chocolate! Delish.

This is brilliant. I love the story, and the way old magics are used. A sequel would be amazing xD

Wow, I can't believe I didn't get around to reading this until yesterday! It's been in my favorites for a while, but I seem to have forgotten about it. A very good piece of writing, I must add. The only thing I have to say is that I don't like how they have to seperate now after everything that has happened. After all, Harry and Snape are on speaking terms!

I like how you made Snape have a bit more background, with a loving group of people who are, if not blood-related, at the very least one of the best families he could ever ask for.

I see how you're asking if you should write a sequel and, while I have no idea if you have by this point or not (that's next on my list), I will say that I would (or will, depending on the status) gladly read a sequel.
