Bubblefang 5/5/06 . chapter 1
This is a simply fabulous fic, with Erik showing up after that terrible night. I've never really thought about what Erik did after Raoul shot him and this is the first fic I've read that deals with the subject. Your writing skills are admirable and I love the characterization of Darius. We don't know much about him from Leroux or Kay, but I find his character quite likeable. My only concern is how Darius would be able to follow Erik, wounded like that or not. But all the same, you have a wonderful story here. I enjoyed it a lot.

This story was recommended to me by H.D. Kingsbury. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Your vocabulary and your character development elevate it far above the ordinary. I'm looking forward to reading more of your work. ML

Hello! i love this piece! actually, i love all your pieces! wonderful dialoge, story-weaving, and characterizations.

I have noticed you haven't written anything in a while! might we have more of these little vignettes? Night Encounters? there are so few well written PotO phics on ffnet these days!

please keep on writing!

Love,

He nodded, unperturbed, and unfastened the straps that secured the black mask, sliding them across the sweat-soaked hair, revealing the horrible flesh beneath…

And THAT is why I love Nadir. Deals with Erik, calmly, and somehow knows, somehow, intuitively, that Erik could not kill him.

I very much enjoyed this. Somehow Nadir's remark about the carpet distills Erik and Nadir's relationship. He just saved Erik from a wound, and is now utilizing his common sense in warning him not to wear out the carpet. Nadir, you are God.

*gasp!* This is marvelous! Your Nadir is truly an extension of Leroux's Persian, and your Erik is Leroux's, too! Your writing style expresses a certain level of erudition and poise, as well, which is very much in line with classic authors. Bravo! This is totally going on my favorites list.
I No Longer 11/18/03 . chapter 1
This is...this is...this is one of those pieces where you have to step back a moment to describe what IT is. It's just wow.

I love your Darius, first off. I find him to be a figure of interest and don't understand why Kay or phic writers forget about him. I'd love to see more of him from you.

Second, you've got some great lines. I love Erik's sarcastic: "My shoulder, obviously," and also the part about how light and pain are usually synonomous for him. Especially helps that I'm studying TS Elliot just now, but that's aside from the point.

My absolute FAVORITE part is that flashback back to Persia, where Erik had tied himself up to deny himself the drugs. That's FABULOUS! I wish Kay had done that. I actually think that some versions of the Phantom admit the idea of morphine or some other drug as a reason for Erik's insanity and need for peace, but I actually think Kay's Erik doesn't, which is strange, because Kay's the one who introduced it. Anyway, I loved the whole bit about how he even denies himself spirits because he doesn't want help from anything to dull his pain.

On the whole this was fabulous, fabulous. I'm so looking forward to reading more of these Night Encounters!

And as you've noticed, Riene, I decided to read your other encounter stories as well! :D

This was a superb short story! Of course, I like the details and the flashbacks- pain.. ouchies... torment... guilt- all that good stuff ;) Oh and Nadir's little promise to find Eril's lair :D

loved it!

I like it a lot. Good word choice, and character portrale. Just one thing: Nadir's a Muslim, and they don't drink either. But the fic is still excellent.
Kates 4/22/03 . chapter 1
WOW. I think I told you before - it takes extreme talent to go from romance/angst, to something completely different. You wrote this vignette with Erik and Nadir with the same talent that you write Erik and Christine's continuing romance! I find that remarkable, and quite praise-worthy. This phic really shows how Erik and Nadir really were a sort of friends, deep down - which I liked a lot. Roses for you!

VERY GOOD! I like it tons!
Masked Rose 3/22/03 . chapter 1
Oh my God! I'm practically in tears. Thank you! Thank you! I'm not usually given to such dramatic reviews (I hope) but, seriously, I just read another Nadir/Erik fic and now with this one, it's too much. This is such a wonderful story. I'm a huge fan of the Daroga's, and I love stories that develop this relationship. And this one was beautifully done. Nice use of the novel to set the scene, wonderful characterization. Doubtless you know how good you are, so I don't know what more to say, except thank you so much.

Oh, also, LOVE the Persia flashback and Erik's comments on alcohol. This is SO what I wished would have happened in Kay's novel. You're my hero.
Lavendar 3/22/03 . chapter 1

*whacks darius over the head* shut up bastard! lol :P

no, but i applaud you for actually giving darius a personality, a little stamina if you will, instead of him just being that random guy who follows nadir around, lol

ok i think thats it, byes! :)
