Reviews for: The Lord of the Rings in Sir Gawain's poetry
Tathar 3/30/03 . chapter 3
Amazing, amazing, amazing. Beautiful prose... I can't even imagine writing the entire "Sir Gawain and the Green Knight" like this, though! O_o

I especially liked these parts:

"He hewed away at groping hand and dark song,

Then sang away for help from Tom Bombadil!"

One of Frodo's finest moments, I think, and one of the things in FotR I did miss from the movie. (But then again, they would have had to try and explain Tom Bombadil...)

And this was really good, very descriptive of the hobbits:

"The Hobbits slept till sunup,

For their hearts were stout."

Bravo! Can't wait for more!

Wow! That is just...wow! Wish I had poetical talent... although even if I did, I probably wouldn't be able to write this.

Very, very Tolkienish! ;)

I've read Sir Gawain and the Green Knight in the Middle English original a couple of years ago - a great story. I am not familiar with Tolkien's translation into Modern English, though (at least I don't remember it much).

It's really weird to read chapter summaries of LOTR in a form like this, it IS unique. It's a shame you didn't try to make it alliterative verse, but that is very, very difficult and would have cost you lots of more nerves, I suspect.

I'll be on the lookout for more stanza/chaper thingies.
