a terribly heart-wrenching and powerful story. it was a given that snape would risk all to protect draco from voldemort but the very idea that he would lose his arm as well was particularly cruel. he is, afterall a potions master and now one who cannot even create the simplest of potions. it was so terribly sad and i was wondering whether or not potter could do anything for it. hoping in fact that something more would come out of it.

of course, then i checked back to your profile and found the second part. so i'm off to read that one.

Fascinating series. Ok, I read the sequel first, but it did inspire me to read this. Characters are believable and the writing is clear and well designed. Keep it up!

Are you leaving this as a one-shot or continuing? It works either way but I'd love to see more of it.

This is such an excellent start, I do hope that you will come back to it and continue the story. I can't but believe that the Golden Trio can find some solution to the unlessness of Severus' artificial limb and Draco's depressed and isolated state.

Well, this just has to be continued. ^^ Very lovely, and even if I'm generally not much of a Draco fan, you've written him in the exact way it is possible to enjoy him. Not to mention Snape and Harry are wonderful as usual. This doesn't seem like slash, but to cut off all the warnings on your other story, one wouldn't see it from the first chapter either. Whichever way it's sure to be wondeful, and I'll be checking in to watch for updates.

This was really good. Will there be more? I sure hope so!

I would love it if you continued this - its a brilliant story and extremely well written.
I read it a while back when it was first posted, and I came across it agin following links just now and read it again.
I think that this would make a brilliant full-lenght fic if youwere to continue it.

Oh, I *like* this, it's an excellent beginning -- I hope. Snape, as usual, is completely in character, and I love the way you ground the descriptions, on the Quidditch pitch ["The snitch hid behind the Hufflepuff beater and the team captain's shouts floated up to them as the second string seeker cruised back and forth in confusion. Malfoy snorted in disgust, echoed by Harry."] which is also pitch-perfect for Draco & Harry. More, please!

This is so awful - Snape and Draco, suffering, and Harry who is on the one side barging in and on the other actually trying to help. And it's also such great writing that I'm dying to find out what will happen.
