Cool story. About time Kaoru actually did/got to do something! Though I must say, the wings were a bit cliched, but the rest of the stuff about Kaoru's spirit and and Kasshin Ryu Ougi and the flashbacks were all pretty cool. Also, I loved the way you described Kenshin's movement's during his half of the fight. I'm very curious what Shishio's defense against the Ama Kakeru Ryu no Hirameki would be...

This is a nice piece of work. The transition work for the flashbacks could use a bit of improvement but the storyline was without fault. Including Hiko in the beginning set up a nice background for the story. I enjoyed the fact that Kaoru was able to be strong for the both of them this time, instead of Kenshin being the sole protector. It would probably be interesting to see Kenshin's perspective on Kaoru basically killing someone, even though Shishio was technically already dead. Maybe that could be the basis of a future endeavor. The use of Jin'eh was very unexpected but very appropriate, I like it very much. The title is very fitting. Keep writing.

A great fanfic no matter how I look at it..that is until you put in that random crap about Kamiya and those "wings". Ugh, it was so unoriginal and boring. Do I smell a sequel?

Ooh, scary. I like stuff written from Hiko's perspective...and it should be interesting to see what Jin-e does now!
