I had never considered that Earendil might have witnessed the fall of Numenor and what a horrible pain that would have been for him. I love the hope and resolve of the last line. Wonderful!

Oh! Nellas/Turin is one of my favourite little nuggets in the Unfinished Tales. :) Lovely short piece, especially this line: "He did not know this, for it was not true. But maybe he could make it true, if he but put it in the poem." Very nice. :)

There is so much great stuff in here to explore I'm sort of hesitant to even try to say anything about it after the first (well, two by now) reading(s).
At moments there is harmony, only to be followed by chaos and immense sadness, blending into each other seemlessly. The contrasts you've worked in are truly amazing.
As you introduce one image it's shortly followed by the next, making it all a kind of journey in which there isn't really black or white, no accusations but still so much regret.

A marvellous example of how strong poetry can be.

Elrond suffered so much loss - loss to the sea, loss to the sky, temporary loss to the west; and loss beyond Arda (for both his evenstar and his brother). Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!
