I tend to approach canon-character-as-child fics with some caution, but this is high quality writing.

Your characterisation is dead on – something which is particularly hard to do when serious modifications have been made to a familiar character – and I really liked the way you write Vin and Ezra together.

You strike a nice balance between the innate vulnerability of Ezra and Vin’s situation as street-teens and their own entirely recognisable survivor attitude, which lets the tie in to the rest of the team settle with more equal terms than it could have done. They come together by chance and by choice, and that’s the way it should be.
