Wow. This is quite impressive. I think Ebonbird captured Joe's character and how he might feel about his impending death remarkably accurately. Ebonbird's prose is beautiful, as well. "She fell on him like stars." Lovely. Very poetic. "Between" is definitely worth a read, even if you're not a Gatch fan. (Though it helps to know some of the show's continuity.)
