| anna 2003-11-12 ch 2, anon. | abusedamn brilliant! the letters were so ... intriguing and full of tension. delicately written, too, and very much in character. really good! |
| sunny-historian 2003-07-29 ch 9, | abuseOh! This is so sweet! It's the happiest V/M I've ever read, it's lovely and sweet and adorable... and its plot, though brief, is satisfying. And there's hope for them forever. I loved it. |
| Ysabet 2003-06-17 ch 9, | abuseWhew... I just read the last 3 chapters all in one swell foop; I think I need a sobriety pill. How very... Vetinari-ish, to end like that; 'governance.' Self-control is where one finds it, I suppose, and it seems his takes strength from recognizing the same in Margolotta. Whew again. This one was gorgeous, and it made me do more than a bit of mental exercise. Do you know, my own fics move better and faster when I have good ones to read, even though there's a world of difference between the Discworld and anime? **Ysabet pictures a Detective Conan/Discworld crossover and shudders in horror** Thanks for the writing, thanks for the story, and thanks for making me think! |
| Cadnobach 2003-06-15 ch 9, | abuseI was so convinced that I reviewed this chapter before... I maybe going insane... but anyway... I think this fic was one of the best I've read so far. You manage to write about Vetinari as a human being, with out losing the essence of his character. Write more soon. Caddi. |
| Rissa 2003-06-15 ch 1, anon. | abuseFantastic! The way you've written the characters isn't always the same way they appear in my head, but it's all so plausable I can't help being completely swept into the story, until I have to wait for the next chapter to load. Thanks to your story, I'm at the risk of spending exam week searching for more of your work :) |
| Lunar1 2003-06-09 ch 9, | abuseWow. A little dazed after reading this but it is A-mazing. The Papers themselves are absolutely fantastic - a work of literary art! |
| Wunderlust 2003-06-09 ch 8, | abusePlausible Vetinari fluff! I think the poles have reversed themselves. |
| random reviewer 2003-06-06 ch 8, anon. | abuse"Ten points to anyone who spots the James Howe reference." BUNNICULA!! *g* I thought Margolotta's Bunnicula pajamas added a nice touch of comic relief to a rather dark chapter, I'm anxiously awaiting the next chapter! By the way, am I the only one who thinks that Marglotta with the pajamas would make a great piece of fanart? *releases art-bunny into the wild* |
| Cadnobach 2003-06-06 ch 8, | abuseAnother good chapter, I paticularly liked the bit with the cats eyes, and the conversation at the end. Hope you update again soon. Caddie. |
| Gaia Myles 2003-06-05 ch 8, | abuse...-is stunned speechless- That last chapter...was...well, to say it was anything less than powerful would be to say that Hiroshima was a minor inconvenience. I doubt that a page of your work goes by that I am not thoroughly impressed. You've cultivated yourself a new fan! |
| Ansketil 2003-06-05 ch 8, | abuseI love this story. Vetinari is exactly right. Very few other peaple make him as real as Mr Pratchett does. Please continue... |
| Wunderlust 2003-06-02 ch 7, | abuseDear me, it IS a plot. It's a bit bewildering seeing through Vetinari's eyes. Just thinking about him showing that much emotion (and losing control to Margoletta) is enough to throw off the mental gyroscope-- --but we all need to be kept on our toes, don't we? So keep at it, please! |
| Cadnobach 2003-06-02 ch 7, | abuseWhen I started reading this, I wasn't too sure about it, but now that I've gotten into the plot a bit more, it's truning out to be good. Some bits were slightly OOC, but overall very good. I especially liked the bit when Drumknot takes the breakfasts in. Hope you get time to update soon. Caddie. |
| Gaia Myles 2003-05-31 ch 7, | abuseWow...that's a really good story. As always, whenever I read something of yours, I'm more impressed each time. Keep up the superb work! |
| The Grynne 2003-05-31 ch 7, | abuseYou say that you finally have a plot; I don't know whether this means that you didn't have one before or whether it's simply never displayed itself until this stage of the story, but in either case, the reader can certainly feel it. The writing is taut and driven, and I felt an immense rush of satisfaction upon learning that Vetinari was listening in, invisible, while the conspirators talked about him. Night Watch (and the "tiger" prank on Downey) taught me that Vetinari is not above revenge, but he has grown up a lot since, and I'm interested to see what shape his revenge will take now. |
