Reviews for Barren
Kikibell's kitten 1/12/12 . chapter 1
there are people who are born with the kind of cold detachment needed to do and understand and think this kind of reasoning..

people who live or have lived in a war know what it is like to make sacrifices.. to cut your own hand off.. it's almost like a doctor cutting of a limb full of gangrene...

sad thoughts, sad story, but full characterization.

i loved it
Morzan's Elvish Daughter 7/31/11 . chapter 1
Well writin angst- I adore the parts where Hermione wants to laugh like a maniac, mostly because I've been there. Laughing and crying and screaming at the same time. Fun. XD
marshmeshlow 5/8/11 . chapter 1
... Breathtakingly well written.
rekrula 3/27/11 . chapter 1
very odd story, but moving. thanks for sharing.
Sithtar 3/23/11 . chapter 1
I've read your story several times and always found it very powerful. I saw one reviewer ask why Hermione didn't get a Muggle operation. If a, seemingly common, potion can re-grow bones then it is possible that Magic could 'rebuild' the parts a Muggle operation removed, so dark magic needed to be used. Dark magic that couldn't be countered.

I always had the feeling that Severus knew there was only one way to stop Voldie, hence he didn't talk while everyone debated what to do and said research was needed.

Dark story, but very very good.

This is utterly dark and depressing but brilliant in every aspect. To be honest, I was disturbed the first time I read it which was some months ago. Stumbling upon it again, I can now say that it is very beautifully written. Still, I am horribly upset at what Hermione was driven to do but given the circumstances, I see no other way but that- and she came to that conclusion too.
Anna Scathach 9/16/10 . chapter 1
A bit odd? You can certainly say that (and it's nice to see what authors make of it - I've read a novel where a young girl who's had a very religious education and has an older lover with potency problems cuts off "the, um, problem", and justifies her actions with that Bible quote). But wow for the fic, for being so emotional but coldly rational at the same time while balancing on the edge of insane. Great insight into her mind, by the way.
Skyrah 8/13/10 . chapter 1
This is an amazing story
Jess 5/20/10 . chapter 1
I don't know what to say. It's shocking and horrible, but also very well written and original. Both Hermione and Severus seemed in character throughout.
FeelingUntouched 1/8/10 . chapter 1

Hail To King Joffey 9/11/09 . chapter 1
..I really wish this wasn't a one shot. I could easily imagine this being one of the best S/HG stories that would be available on ff. Great concept, idea and very well written.
Yushi 4/14/09 . chapter 1
I'm confused as to why she wouldn't just get a Muggle hysterectomy... I mean, pain for the rest of her life and the possibly permanent loss of her magic? As opposed to a surgery, and then instant menopause, but otherwise happily-ever-after? Hrm... Decent as far as angsty goes. Way better than a lot of the tripe that goes around under the same category. But, unfortunately, lacking the necessary logic that makes a good tale.

As to your collective works:

I admire the research you put into your stories, and the author's notes that give your readers such interesting tidbits of information. I find your fluffy romances disgusting, not to mention your overflowing gratitude to the teachers and various others you frequently cite. But you will notice, I keep coming back for more. XD

Please continue. (This is my snobby way of begging you not to stop.)

Pretty good. Made-up termswere believable. At least she took action. No weird actionin this. Average more the best.
Rickmanlover24601 5/4/08 . chapter 1
That was brilliant.

I love how it unfolded. Despite the obvious title, I found my mind going in one direction before swiftly being led in another. I don't know whether that was intentional, unintentional good writing, or my brain is just silly.

I haven't read anything like that before and I really enjoyed it despite it's dark nature. I liked the comparison between her actions and those of Remus and Snape's.

You're an amazing writer. Thanks for sharing!
