Out of all the fabulous lines in this story, that was my favorite.

Oh, I enjoyed that greatly. I've read Vimes/Vetinari before, but I haven't read much *good* Vimes/Vetinari. This, OTOH, is good. (And there was even a footnote. That's proper Discworld, that is. *g*)

Wow! I'm not generally crazy about Vimes/Vetinary slash, but you kept this within reasonable bounds and made it just part of the over-all story. I like!

I really want to see this updated. There are far too few Vetinari/Vimes out there. I certainly hope this isn't abandoned, that would be a waste of this fic's potential.

It's the third time I have read this story. The first one, as I recall, it was: "What? Vimes? Vetinari? No way. All right, convince me." Well, you convinced me. Completely. I searched the Web for Vimes/Vetinari stories, found few, liked even fewer and then I came back to "Off the Cuff" for the second time. Next I've read your other fics (including Potterish ones) - with a great pleasure. It's been more than a year. And today I looked up FFNet to see if something changed in Discworld stories. Frankly, I've forgotten about "Off the Cuff", and the summary took my attention. After the first paragraph, of course, I remembered, but continued to the end with delight. Need I say more to pay you homage? ;-> Your both Vimes and Vetinari are believable, true to the canon and well written. It's really rare.
