Um, I think I've seen this before...but as a post-GoF thing. You know, I have to say this, I really didn't like it much then and I don't like it now even less. But, let me tell you why--you have Harry using *concealment charms* to hide supposed marks from being hit/beaten or whatnot, yet Harry can't do any magic to keep the blasted Dursley asses away? I don't think so. After OOtP,

I think it is made claer that if ANYONE tries to harm Harry with the intent cause physical harm, magic will stop them. This may be both the blood protection of a side effect of wandless magic manifesting itself Either way, it's in chapter 1 of OOtP that when Vernon tries to grab Harry outside the window--he gets shocked and yelps and lets go of Harry. I do not belive in anyway shape or form that Harry cannot adequately defend himself, not to mention, he wouldn't stand for it. Post GoF, yeah, I could have seen a depressed Harry who sucks up some abuse just because he thinks he belives it, but now? No way. Is Harry depressed now? Well, kind of, but after such a freaking depressing life, you turn hard and I think Harry has well made that turn around the corner and is heading down the road. He is well past feeling sorry for himself anf thinking he deserves to be treated like **--he much more likely to start feeling entitlement to proper treatment as a result of the injustices he has suffered and the responsibilities he muct carry.
In summary, I think either this was your old story or you nicked it,

But, I do love the idea of Harry having a journal...and also of Snape having an alternating companion journal perspective.

I think with some rethinking and reassessing of Harry's canon character at this point, that you could use this plot device of a journal to make a very interesting story. It's difficult, however, to make a beliveable Harry/Sev line picking up the canon threads at the end of 5th year...I'd love to see someone do it well.

~Don’t get me wrong. I massively appreciate your review. It’s a good review. I just wish you’d read the A/N before writing the review, since I said there that it was AU and did NOT take into account the events that occurred in OOtP. Now I have my little muses working overtime to figure out how to fix it so that it’s not quite so AU without killing off someone very, very special to the plot (special, but not necessarily important). I may just end up starting a whole new one, and writing two sets of diaries (and my brain now hurts with that prospect).

~Well. I hope that cleared up some misconceptions. I left this as a review because I hate posting 203498039486 author’s notes, one after the other, in one story. It ** me off for some strange reason. Will I actually be writing new diaries? That’s…a very good question. Once midterms are over, we’ll see. *^_^*

You have to absolutely complete these! They are very interesting! I love how you captured the whole teen-aged angst of this situation and how you have Harry grousing about his life. It is great! Good job!

wow! This is brilliant! I've always loved stories written in diary format, and this one is great! Trust Snape to read everything, even though he probably knew what would be in it. Just a suggestion, it would be really great to have a Snape diary going in alternate chapters to the Harry one. Can't wait for more.
