Awesome job! Your style is simple, easy to read and beautifully depicted. In so few words you painted an entire world perfect in emotion/characterization and complex in everything that it implied. Though I don't agree that Ayeka would refuse to be healed (choosing death), that makes it more believable. Because we *don't* always know the people that we think that we do, and illness can change the heart and the mind. The dark, angsty feel made me wonder at what point Ayeka thought that she would rather die being loved than live and risk...something. Was it because she did not want to see the day come that she officially lost her Lord Tenchi? Or was her pain so great that deeper reasons aided her decision?

This poem is one of the few fics that actually made me cry. And if you haven't already, I think that a companion fic based along this poem's events is absolutely necessary. I will egerly be awaiting it.

*Side Note* Strikingly simular to the love-letter fic (don't know title) in which Tenchi writes letters to the grave of his recently departed wife.
