 Estella May 2006-12-22 . chapter 1Amazing! You're very talented. |
The Leaky Pen 2006-04-23 . chapter 4The Songs of Valinor are lovely indeed. You definitely deserved the Mithril Award for the Song of Firiel. I'm afraid I can't comment beyond that. You've stolen my words from me. ^^ |
Raven Aorla 2005-05-04 . chapter 3Whoops, guess I was wrong. Do I get some points for the right family?
The poetry in general is enjoyable, but nothing really jumps out at me. |
 Raven Aorla 2005-05-04 . chapter 2I guess Galadriel's POV |
ElfLover 2004-11-17 . chapter 3Oops, Finrod's POV, not Thingol's. Though it could possibly have been. Or maybe it's just me. |
ElfLover 2004-11-17 . chapter 2Thingol's perspective, I think, though I'm not certain. Lovely poetry, really touching.

Njorth 2004-02-21 . chapter 3Finrod, was it? Yes, it's all so obvious now... what with the gems and all.
(Feeling stupid. -_-")
I guess having read the Silmarillion three years ago, I didn't absorb much.
Keep experimenting with meter--it's definitely working for you. |
 A. Meril 2004-02-18 . chapter 2O, bonus for a guess...
Finrod? That's the best I can come up with.
Ah, well, I can't just guess, and not review! Very poignant. I can't write poetry to save my life, so I admire people who can pull it off! Nice!

Ailsa89 2004-02-13 . chapter 1Simply wonderful and more than deserves the award ^^ It flows beautifully. I love the fact her name means "mortal woman" too, as that makes the poem all the more heart-wrenching. Absolutely gorgeous *appaluse all round*

Celebwen 2003-11-10 . chapter 2 Poor Finrod! Poor Amarie! How could he just leave her!! You write wonderful poems, they all seem to be about people wishing to be in Valinor, they just don't realise how lucky they are to be in that world at all, I'll swap!! |
Earwen of Alqualonde 2003-11-02 . chapter 4I am impressed...very impressed...especially the one about Finrod and Amarie. |
Robin O'Brien 2003-10-28 . chapter 3 I like the Hymn to Elbereth best. Have you ever experimented with free verse? |
Ngia 2003-09-24 . chapter 3Beautiful again, but I think you don't really need the 'do' in the poem where you have put it in, for me the pieces in your poems such as 'we 'do' cry' or 'souls 'do' long' throws off the rhythm of the poem.
In my opinion I think the lines would read better without 'do' in there: e.g 'Our souls long for farthest west' or 'A song of parting we cry', each word modifies the next and sets the mood and image for the line, while 'do' tends to break the images apart and stop the flow from one word to the next.
Other than that your poems were truely beautifully written!
Well done! |
Ngia 2003-09-24 . chapter 2Hmm for me it could be any of three couples, either Finrod and Amarie, Turgon and Elenwe and Elrond and Celebrian, though I think more emphasis would be on the forst two.
A beautiful poem! |
Nenya Culariel 2003-09-20 . chapter 3Oh, wow, Meir, these are gorgeous! They sound to me like real Elven poetry, not just random stuff made up by someone without much talent. (*Ahem* Legolusters at OFUM at midnight, etc.)
And (go me!) I figured out that the second one might be Felagund before you said so in the third poem.
I will keep my eye on this for future updates, and maybe put a link to it on my page, if you don't mind. 'Tis gorgeous!
