Akana Dragon 2004-07-25 . chapter 7oh my god! its one of the best stories i've ever read. i mean it! i cried so hard at the ending, heck, i'm STILL crying. neeh. so good! |
French-Fille 2004-05-01 . chapter 7 I can hardly believe that I have never reviewed this story. For each anime or manga that I read fan fictions for, I always have one favorite out of all of them. This is my favorite Fruits Basket story that I will ever read.
I don't cry when reading, or listening to music, or when watching TV or movies. But I nearly, was so very close to crying when I read this for the first time.
As for the poem?
Give up your day job of being a writer.
Become a poet.
Wait a second...then you wouldn't write about any evil dragons I have to skin...*runs off, chasing after evil draggies*
(On a very serious note, the poem is very much one of the reasons why my eyes teared. Gorgeous.) |
HotaruKat 2004-04-02 . chapter 7Wow!! this was so good. I loved the way you portrayed Akito! (perhaps a little scarier at times than i would have liked) but still great. I'm working on my own Akito fiction right now and this so so cool, to read another story about him. |
 Lethargy 2004-02-12 . chapter 7Incredible. Absolutely beautiful. I love this story! ^^ |
kskyearth 2003-11-19 . chapter 7 Holy **, that was good! Wah... I almost cried. You should send this to the Ritsu site, Monkey Business. ^_^ Very good. |
French-Fille 2003-11-08 . chapter 7 That's beautiful. For each series I truly love I find one, and only one I deem such, and this is it for Furuba. It was perfect: Akito's reasons for not feeling guilty; the mysterious China Doll; Akito playing along; and the accident.
I realized that by this fulfills the three requirements of a tragedy, according to Sophocles:
1. Hero's Faulty Characteristic: Akito's sadism/arrogance
2. Reversal: Akito hurts Ritsu to break him; instead, he loves almost ...more
3. Recognition: Akito shouldn't hurt Ritsu because breaking him won't make himself happy.
It makes sense, somewhat. The saneness of the insanity of it all. |
DarkSov 2003-10-06 . chapter 2only read 2 chapters so far, but good. keep up the good work! |

AnGeL-san is touched... speechless and touched... AnGeL-san wishes to thank Dr. M for sharing this wonderful fic to others... and wishes her good fortune to all her future works!
CIAO! |
T-c3 2003-07-13 . chapter 7Aww, that was sweet...in a weird way. Well, you answered my question. But for some reason, it doesn't bother me. And if you got me to like a yaoi fic, that means this story is great. And it IS great! I shall forever love how you portrayed Akito. Awesome job! |
kumo tires 2003-07-13 . chapter 7oh God, I'm crying >< I hate you for doing that to me...okay, not really...
GAH! I love this fic, it's so good >< I kept thinking that Akito was a bastard for a long time, then now...now i have a different opinion. Why can't the anime be like this? >< Crap, this is too good; curse you XD |
Neko-chan -Silvered Tongue- 2003-07-12 . chapter 6I know that this sounds silly, but I wandered off after reading this story and have been thinking about it ever since I finished my review for chapter seven.
So I decided to do a more thorough review, na no da! =^_^=
I adore how you've made Akito's personality and character develop as the story progressed. The changing between 'she/her' and 'he/him' was an excellent affect, showing just how deeply a person can get wrapped up in his or her daydreams. And the gradual development of Ritsu and Akito's relationship... You accomplished that easily. The pace was wonderful; not too fast, not too slow.
And a huge accomplishment: You made the pairing _believable._ That, in itself, is amazing.
Yet another huge accomplishment: You've been able to show the man behind the monster. Most definitely applaud yourself for that. You've been able to make Akito's character understandable. You've been able to show him in a way that _no one_ has been able to do so far. It's... stunning.
Your writing style is also exceptional, too. There were some grammar errors and several other errors, but nothing huge enough to detract away from the story. The words, the language, every imagery that you managed to use... it all weaved together into a gorgeous tapestry; dark and depressing, but still keeping the soul of the manga and anime: Hope. There's hope. There will always be hope.
Incredible.
=^_^=
Let's just say that this story quite easily inspired me to write an Akito-centric ficu of mine. 'Course, it'll NEVER be as good as this one is. And, once again, of course it is also dedicated to you.
Keep up the amazing work, ne?
^_^

Liz 2003-07-12 . chapter 7 Thanks so much for your e-mail! As soon as I got it, I went and read the next chapter of your story. It was absolutely wonderful. I loved it. There were actually two parts in the chapter where I was almost crying because you had me afraid of what was happening next. You sure know how to build up the tension! (those parts were when Akito was insulting Ritsu, and then when Ritsu got run over and I was worried he would die.)
I do wish that you would write another chapter, because it seems to me like Ritsu would wonder why Akito would do that to him if he loved him. It makes sense that he was willing to forgive him, but I would like to see him question Akito, ask him what he was thinking-- in a nice way, of course! I know that if it was me I'd be awfully curious, and I'd be wondering if my loved one wasn't seriously mentally disturbed. I think I'd worry about him, because he obviously has some emotional issues. |
