I really like the way you portray Giles in this piece, the way he relates to xander at this junction and I love your use of humour.

LOL. Poor Xander. I feel so bad for him. Grr, Caleb. I was so glad when he got killed. Nice job with the conversation between Giles and Xander. It felt really realistic.

*L* Ah, more Giles/Xander bonding and not in a slashy way. It took me until, y'know, y'mentioned the one eye thing to realize just when this was. Which is weird since he's only stayed in the hospital that one time, onscreen anyway. Can I just say again how I love whatcha do to Xander? And yer Giles ain't half bad either.

Oh, poor little Xandy. Everyone seems to forget that losing an eye is kind of a HUGE thing and he definitely needed a lot of mourning time. I loved Giles' fatheryness, that's just how it should always be. He's such a good dad for all the scoobies. I wish they'd shown Anya comforting him too... I loved the talk about Anya's website, it was so in character for both of them! You've written this extremely well, write more!

Not sure if I like this one because it would fit so nicely into Buffy-verse cannon or because it is the levity starkly absent from the show after Xander's maiming. That and it has prominent Giles-ness. Thanks for this little respite from what the show is currently dealing out!

God. So glad you wrote this. After re-watching Season 2 recently, and then watching "Dirty Girls", I was thinking to myself that this season could be salvaged if the writers would only include a small scene where Giles sat alone at Xander's bedside and told him that he was proud of him. Thanks for remembering two oft-neglected characters and for writing them subtly and humorously.
