lols! some parts of it are pretty funny. all in all, the story's good. ^_^

the only minor flaw in there would be the small flashback of knux in the middle...it doesn´t have anything to do with the story and distracts rather than adding something to it.
otherwise I found your charcterization of sonic and knuckles wonderful and having a sort of message in your story is great. I also liked that knuckles himself had a sort of revelation when he was watching sonic, i just wished that you had expanded on that a little more.

You know, I've read this before "Experimentation", but... yeah. For some weird reason, I haven't commented this story yet. And I shall and must. ...God, I suck at reviewing.

I don't know what to say that hasn't already been mentioned in detail by other readers, but all I can say is this: you NAILED Sonic, Knuckles, and their friend/rival relationship. They felt damn human in this, especially with Sonic tied up and not wanting to be weak and... it was really poignant. The fic was hilareous too, with the bickering, races, and the ending. ^^

All and all, I love this fanfic. ^_^

Believe it or not, I actually did learn a lesson by reading this. For that, I owe you thanks. I've had my own troubles recently with dependent relationships in my family, nothing bad, just difficult, and I think this helped me a little. Once again, I owe you for it. Thank you.

Outstanding writing! ...even if it did have more cursing/more harsh profanity than I would want.

Remember kids, profanity is bad. Even if it DOES give a story that extra "omph!", even though it's already excellent one.

Back to the main review. You managed to put a lot of funny gags and stuff in there, and yet you still kept the "dramatic-ness" of the main plot strong enough to keep my atention. Major "niceness" there.

And you kept Sonic and Knuckles's "extremely bitter rival, but still close pals" attitude towards each other. That was good.

The moral was well put. I like follow this moral. It definately, so you other people listen to Indilee.

Now, I must go to my own fanfics and stuff... one which got deleted for no apparent reason... grr...

I think your are really great at writing out the different personalities, there's a huge difference between how you picture Sonic and Knuckles, and since this fanfic was about those two, it really helps the story and makes it even more interesting! I loved the end and the lesson that Sonic is trying to teach Knuckles, your writing is awesome, I wish I could write half as well as you do. All my stuff sucks. Seriously.
This last part had to be my favorite.

The ground lurched up, catching him off guard. He cried out as he felt himself catapulted upwards. His vision saw the leaves float upwards as the ground replaced the sky. The echidna felt that his body was frozen. He soon realized that he wasn’t falling back to the earth below him. A tug. He couldn’t move his limbs either. What the hell?!?!
It was about this time that he saw the netting.
“ …What the **?!”
He thrashed around as hard as he could, but found that even limb on his body was stuck through the tight netting. The Guardian was stuck. Upside down. In a tree. Oh ** oh ** oh **…Violet eyes noticed a hint of dark blue moving toward him. …You little **!
“ How’s it hanging, Knuckles?” The pun was horrible. One of Sonic’s major flaws. The grin appeared.
Knuckles wanted to knock that grin right off of his face.
“ Sonic! Get me down from here!”
“ Make me.”
“ YOU LITTLE…!!”
“ Ah ah ah!” Sonic waved a finger at his upside down comrade. “ You get to hang out for awhile…It’s only fair…!” He winked. “ I suppose I’ll check up on you tomorrow morning…!”
The Guardian’s eyes widened a little bit.
“ YOU WOULDN’T DARE!!”
“ Oh, wouldn’t I?”
Emerald eyes showed the evil behind them. Knuckles was practically scared of the look on Sonic’s face, rather than the situation. He knew that the hedgehog would take revenge on him for what he had done, but he hadn’t expected it to be so soon.
“ Bittersweet, isn’t it?”
Fists tightened.
“ Let me down from here.”
“ No, I don’t think so.”
The blood was already rushing to his head.
“ I’m going to pass out eventually if you don’t at least put me upright!”
“ That’s your problem, Knuckles.” Sonic’s voice had no form of remorse.
“ Sonic!”
“ Don’t ‘Sonic!’ me. You knew what you were getting into the second you tied me up yesterday!”
“ You can’t just leave me out here!”
“ Sure I can.”
“ But-!”
“ But nothing, Knuckles.”
Knuckles glared at Sonic. This was insane. At least he had let Sonic have a little leeway. The hedgehog wasn’t giving him any slack here. The echidna had nothing to say. Sonic’s grin only got bigger and more sinister.
“ It’s your turn to do some thinking.” He started. “ Only this time…think about the lesson that you taught me.”
A brow furled.
“ What? To use my brain in bad situations?”
“ Of course not. Do you think I learned nothing from that hellish ordeal?!”
“ Well, I don’t happen to be a short, blue, stubborn hedgehog!”
“ Fool.” Sonic poked Knuckles’ nose with his index finger.
The Guardian growled a little.
“ Then what the hell do you want me to think about?”
The hedgehog smiled.
“ It’s quite simple, really. It’s all a matter of dependency.”
“ Pardon…?”
“ Dependency. I depended on you to let me go this morning. I’ve also depended on you on missions and saving my life when I wasn’t able to do it myself. AND I’ve also depended on you to be a friend to me.”
Knuckles blinked.
“ So I want you to be dependent on me too.”
“ And so you stick me in a NET?!”
“ Yup! Now you’re dependent on ME to get you down.”
“ You could do that right now, yo “ True, but then you wouldn’t have learned anything.”
Sonic turned and started walking away. Knuckles thrashed around in the net, screaming at him to come back. The hedgehog only smirked as he waved a hand as he continued on his leave. “ Remember: it’s a matter of dependency.”
Orin herself could not have done this better, differently maybe, but never better. This goes to the favs.
