It took me only one night to read this story... i loved it and I just couldn't stop until the end.
You have an amazing imagination, and great talent.

Thanks for this story...I loved it! You're a good writer and I can see it through the literary devices you use and the fact that I can draw connections throughout the whole story...like the rain thing at the beginning a few chapters ago. I knew then that he was going to fly in that chapter because of the reference to the smell of clouds. It's good that you did that...because you can do that to good stories. Continue to do more of that...it's great. I especially like the ending...where he just gets to live. Other than my initial confusion with his age with all the jumping from 18 to 19 to 20, I'd give you 4 thumbs up, a pat on the back, and a virtual cookie for awesomeness!

Alright, I started to read this story in the start of 2004, when there where like 4 chapters up. A while back, my friend gave me a Escaflowne poster and that got me rehooked on Escaflowne fanfics and my first act was to find you. I adore your story. It is very original and, I must say, very well written. Also, if you know of any other good Escaflowne fics, or Escaflowne fics with Gundam Wing crossovers, please let me know? Thank. Um auf Deine Befürchtung einzugehen, nein, die Stimmung ist nie 'antiklimaktisch'. Es ist ein Unterschied zwischen reinen Romanzen und Dramas, bei denen die Romanze nur als Mittel zur Persönlichkeitsentwicklung eingesetzt wird. Deine Geschite würde ich in die letztere Kategorie einordnen.

In diesen Fällen ist es nicht schlimm, wenn die Liebegeschichte nicht im Fokus steht und auch nicht alle Entwicklungen verfolgt werden. Es reicht dann, wenn der Leser Vans Entwicklung zu einer eigenständigen Persönlichkeit mitbekommt. Dazu gehört auch, dass er Gefühle kennenlernt, die er bisher so nicht kannte. In Deinem Fall wird dies in erster Linie über Hitomi vermittelt, die als Spiegel zu Van fungiert; ich finde das deutlich genug und schön gelungen.

Mir gefällt auch der Dreh mit dem Fahrrad. Niemand kann erwarten, dass Van in seiner Situation mit einem Ferrari vor der Tür steht. Wenn ich eines nicht mag, dann sind es unrealistische Geschichten, in denen die Gesetze des Alltagslebens außer Kraft gesetzt worden sind.

Vielleicht sind sie nicht so zuckersüß wie es manche Leser wollen, aber sie sind damit nicht automatisch 'antiklimaktisch', sondern einfach realitätsnah. Mach' Dir also deswegen keine Sorgen.

Schön, viele Leser wollen mit Lesen ihrem Alltagstrott entfliehen, aber man sollte den Boden nicht völlig unter den Füßen verlieren. Es macht keinen Spaß, beim Lesen einer Geschichte sich ständig zu fragen:"Hey, wie sind sie dorthin gekommen?" Oder:"Seit wann kann er denn fliegen und wieso?"

Also, noch mal Glückwunsch, hab mich über den 'update alert' gefreut und gerne gelesen. Viel Erfolg mit Deiner anderen Geschichte!
