abuseI'm so glad I read these. They're wonderful glimpses of fraught moments in recent history and the way that Spike and Dru interact with that history, yet remain apart from it.

One tiny thing, the red-haired, star-foreheaded Young One is Vivien. Or Vivian. Is there a Lesley/Leslie-like gender difference between the spellings or is one of them just wrong?

Oh, unless getting Vivian's name wrong is a characteristic of the narrator and not the author's attempt to make me feel like a smarty-pants?

But the main thing is. I loved these.

abuseStories like this are the reason that I love fanfiction. You've taken us on a journey to Spike's and Dru's past, through the eyes of outsiders.

Not only are the stories themselves interesting, well-written, and original, but they are also down right creepy. Just like the two vampires that they are about.

You have a real talent for writing, and I hope to have the chance to enjoy more of your fanfiction in the future.

abuseI don’t even know where to begin! I’m awestruck. *This* is the reason why I love this fandom! Stories like this and writers like you! And I’m not exaggerating! This was amazing. It’s 2.00 a.m. and I’m not being eloquent but damn! After reading this you can’t expect me to be, can you? I’ll try though. This is not only intelligent and original but also very skilfully written. I have always wondered what they looked like to others. And you give us that and so much more. There are no easy-way outs here. You keep it in character (the fact that they pop up in war scenarios makes absolute sense) and at the same time you manage to give us meaningful glimpses of the narrator of each part – making us feel empathy towards them (specially, the first one). And each part is a story onto itself, carefully crafted and with the kind of “punch-in-the-gut” ending that leaves one gawking at the screen.
I'm sure I don't get all the references (not being an American) but I know enough to understand the relevance of most of what is written here. Furthermore, I know good fic when I read it. And this is so good! This is almost too good! Keep them coming.
