| kerricarri 2007-06-01 ch 1, | abuseA very nice ode to Night. It also nicely ties together the main events of the book, too. The tone is expressive and not unlike that of Night--detached, solemn, cold. But this was a much more...well, I'm hesitant to say "lively" but that's the only way I can describe it, read than the actual book itself. Although I can understand Elie's reasoning for his writing to be so detached and apathetic in Night, it often ** me off. The poem itself had a much more direct "slap in the face" kind of feeling than the book, which was much more subtle and let its implications speak for themselves. So all in all...not bad. I liked it. |

I just finished reading the book for English class, and this poem summarizes the book perfectly. I love it! |
