abuseThis is going to be sad too, I can tell already.

It must be terrible to be killed in a war, never knowing if your side won. But if you did know, and your side lost, would all the dead say it was for nothing? That it wouldn't have mattered if they hadn't left their friends and families behind to fight for a good cause, that it wouldn't have made any difference, because they lost the war anyway.

abuseThis piece of yours together with Alawa´s one on Aragorn at Arathorn´s grave almost brought me to tears.

This was very moving. It touched me because Halbarad has been a pet favourite of mine, who always gets short-shrifted.

I always imagined that Aragorn, being the lonely person he was would feel keenly Halbarad´s death. So, it was great to see in writing something you always believed one of your favourite characters felt about another.

Thank you very much!

abuseVery good story, short, but still emotionally loaded. One thing: it is "Dunadan" not "Dunedan".

abuse*bows* Beautifully written. Halbarad is such a neglected character, I'm glad that there are others out there who want to give him the attention he deserves.

abuseWonderful, just wonderful. (And I love how Aragorn sees himself as the "guardian" of what they have all won, not the hero or center of things.) This is a truly exquisite tribute to a fallen comrade who fought by the side of someone he loved and honored.
