This one made me cry too.

Well, that made me cry like a little baby. I can't imagine how it must be to be immortal-watching your loved ones grow up and die.

Just in case anyone else was confused like Scream Fire was ... let me explain things right now. No, there was no spell on Dawn that made her grow old.

The story is set seventy-five years after "The Gift" so Dawn is now eighty-nine years old. Like the story said she was just dying of natural causes. Heart failure because her body was simply shutting down, etc. and so on.

Hope no one else was confused.

wow. this was just... wow. it was sad, it was sweet, and it was just great. this was written beautifully and i hope to read even more of your work.

it's very good. but i don't really understand what's happening. is this supposed to be in the far away future. so dawn's old but spike's still young and he's upset? or did something happen to dawn tht she's old. i don't understand. the writing's very good. but i don't get it.

Oh God, how sad. Beautifully written and overall just a great story. Just because it's sad doesn't make it bad. It was actually great. But now comes a question. Are you gonna give us another part? Cause it's kind of like a cliffhanger and I want to know what happens to everyone's beloved Spike. You don't have to write another part and it will leave the rest to the readers imagination but I'm curious. If you decide against another part just...I don't know...don't. But if you do write another part (even if it's an epilogue) I'd love to read it.

Very, very good story, and I think it was beautifully written. It would be nice to think that Spike would protect Dawn until she died, too bad the writers decided to abandon that idea. Keep up the great work!
