hey - i read this first at recs judicata, and it certainly doesn't lose anything in the rereading. this is a lovely piece - no cute, no fuzzy, no sweet: for me, just plain clever. i loved the imagery and the word-play ('you wanna keep that arm?' - excellent!), and the subtlety. just nicely teases out the nuances of the r'ship, without coming over too heavy, and draws a great mental picture. i particularly liked the way you wove it all around a completely innocuous piece of conversation, well done. congrats all round! more writing please, there's no writer's block here!

This stiory is soo cute. I love way you talked about a kitten being loveable and cute one minute and deadly the next, I just got a new kitten (a little sister for the to boys I already have) and one minute my darling is sitting peacefully and the next she is biting my hand.
