This is simply wonderful! I love your interpretation of Kain, and the dialogue is so fitting and perfect...I love it!

That was an unbelievably amazing fic. I'm so glad I stumbled upon it. I just happened to be looking for any stories called "The Heart of a Dragoon" because I was going to make a fic under the same name, but now I can't possibly do so(don't worry I have many other titles that I've been coming up with ;).
As I said this fic was an astounding piece, and you've created one of my favorite interpretations of Kain's character. I always wanted to read a story about the ole gang from Baron when they were younger, and I think you did a marvelous job with it. You have a nack for setting up great scenes and the dialogue you gave everyone was absolutely perfect. Kain's attitude seems extremely well played, although I was kind of hoping in the end that he would be happy as a Dragoon and kind of leave the whole Rosa thing behind, or at least not resent Cecil/himself as he does. But you played it out well in the end, no matter how he turned out. I applaude you on this wonderful piece of work, and I wish you would come back to the Final Fantasy section. We need more talented writers such as yourself back in there...REALLY! But no pressure ;P. Once again, awesome job, bravo.

Wow. Utterly... wow. Kain's my favorite FF character, and for a long time I've been hoping to find a story that captured him so well... This story was amazing, one of the best Kain characterizations I've ever seen. This is just an awesome story. I'm not one to normally get emotionally caught up in FF stories, but I was drawn into this one and before I knew it I had sympathy for Kain consuming me. Man. Such a great backstory for the game... I have a feeling I'm going to be reading this story once or twice more within the next week. :)

And know this... you have kindled the desire in this Ranma writer to tackle Final Fantasy myself, to return to the wonder that I once experienced. This reminds me of the reasons why I still get a nostalgic tear whenever I see the opening of FF4(2a), and why I cried the first time when I saw Cecil on the beach, or Palom and Porom turned to stone (Hey...Guys have feelings too, ya know!) This fic reminds me why the original was so great, and that's about as good a complement for fanfiction as I know how to give.
