IMHO: Don't write a sequel. What? No, you can't write a sequel because this story isn't finished yet. Write two or three more chapters, flesh out your detail, work through Jesse's struggle to get his memories back a little more - and maybe let Jesse, half-healed, have to confront Gabriel somehow. Finish this story - and THEN write a sequel! That said, very enjoyable work, impressive adherence to storyline and character for someone who's never seen mx. Great job!

A sequel? Yes! This was good, but I felt short. You could use the sequel to explore a bit more what happened to him with Ashlocke and also how he deals with it. There would have to be some healing involved after the abuse both physically and emotionally for Jesse.

Love a Jesse fic. There's just not enough out there and if your in cahoots with Jilly than you're in good writing company.

Didn't see you had a second chapter...I only caught one thing this chapter that was off. Did you mention that Emma had blonde hair? I mean she doesn't have to have red hair like she does in the show, it just kinda confused me, cause of Shal's hair. I can just imagine what Adams going through when he hear Jesse call Ashlock dad! And to answer your question...Yes, please write a sequal. Maybe Jesse's putting on an act and is still "Ashlocks son?" I don't know just an idea. Anyways, please continue!

Finally a Shalimar/Jesse fic. Great start, you're hitting the characters personalities on the dot, although I can't see Brennan crying, but hey it could happen. I'm glad you wrote him with a tear in his eye, it shows that there is a soft side to Brennan...Somewhere in there. I like how you showed Shalimar's emotional side. It relates to what she's going through right now on the show. And you're right, she of all people should be concerned the most about Jesse. Hey, not bad for never having seen the show. Emma has never been a blonde, however. She had brown hair in season one, and now it's red. Her actress has had blonde hair, but never while doing Mutant X. Also, I don't think the ages work for Jesse being Gabriel's son. There's not a large enough gap between them, or at least I don't think there is. But overall, the story was a good start for breaking into writing MX fic.
