ZukoFlame 2008-09-27 . chapter 1Wow! I really love the emotions in this one. And the descroptions are wonderful. Great job! |
enchantedsleeper 2006-12-18 . chapter 1Are you not writing fanfics any more? I re-read the whole of Against A Sea of Troubles, today. I love your fanfiction, but you haven't written any in so long. |
EmptyWord 2006-07-12 . chapter 1Beautiful, beautiful exploration of Kenshin's suffering after Tomoe's death, and at the same time, maintaining a very realistic portrayal of both Katsura's and Ikumatsu's own worries and concerns.
Ikumatsu's words to Kenshin, "Know then, that Tomoe-san was not the only one to care about you, child," were particularly eye-opening. I had never considered Kenshin could be thinking along those lines. Very perceptive.
I really can find no flaw to point out. Beautifully written. It's a wonder I haven't favorite-ed you yet. |
 Clemen 2006-07-05 . chapter 1beautiful. |
 Warg 2006-06-07 . chapter 1Hey..
Good fic..
Great atmospheric start.. lovely use of shades and color tones.
The shifting focus worked nicely with the story-set.. Loved the way Ikumatsu reacted to Kenshin.. and Kenshin, stoic, reserved and cold, perfectly in character.
thanx for the great read :) |
Reius Devirix 2006-03-28 . chapter 1Oh my God! I love you! I really do! I love youur stories as well and wish to God that I could write as well as you do! Ganbatte! |
RK Otaku 2006-03-02 . chapter 1Thanks for sharing tis fic. Angst, depressing... but ends up on somewhat a happy/ optimistic note. You've a great gift for writing such things. |
BlackFeatherz29 2005-10-15 . chapter 1Interesting story subject. Ikumatsu, of all people! But, it turned out very good. Kenshin did always need a mother... ^^ |
Heather Logan 2005-06-04 . chapter 1This was very very good, another gem from a master. Very atmospheric. Thanks for a lovely read. I shed a few tears over it myself.
Your "Recovery" will always be one of my absolute favorites. |
sueb262 2005-05-16 . chapter 1I read this again today (how many times does that make?). It's just so damn good - I keep coming back to it. You wrench my heart with your powerful, delicate descriptions of Kenshin's emotional and spiritual state. |
Lady Cinnibar 2005-04-21 . chapter 1M... took a glance at Observer, and read the summaries of the others. Maybe I'm not deep into the books enough to understand?
I will be back again later, yah? Couldn't do else, leaving along good writing is criminal, I say! |
Starr Bryte 2005-04-20 . chapter 1Dear Haku Baikou,

omasuoniwabanshi 2005-01-21 . chapter 1Beautifully written, poignant description of Kenshin's state of mind following Tomoe's death. You also captured Katsura's inner conflict as leader. When he says, "I continue to lead. As always. I continue to sacrifice lives I've no right to sacrifice." he reveals the loneliness and the price of leadership.
I also wanted to cheer when Ikumatsu put her arms around Kenshin (if any character in any anime ever needed hugging, it's Kensin in the 'Trust and Betrayal' dvds). His reaction, though heartbreaking, was both believable and typical of the social mores of that period. Lots of authors forget just how formal and stiffly polite Japanese society was during the Meiji era. Your story was both historically accurate and profoundly touching. Excellent work! |
xZig-zagx 2004-11-12 . chapter 1This was wonderful and you stayed in character perfectly!! This was such a great one-shot! You did a super job! |
