abuseBeautiful story--almost too painful to read! (It does give me an overwhelming urge to smack Finduilas for falling for Turin later, but then I feel that way anyhow.)

abuseI absolutely loved this story! It brought me to tears as I read it. Poor Finduilas had to live without her love. Such an emotional tale. And you really brought that out in this.

One question, though. I don't remember, and I'm probably thinking of this wrong, but where does Turin come into her life? I thought she had given her heart to him when Gwindor brought him to her home.

Beautifully written. I'm glad I have the pleasure to read this, and all of your other stories. Thank you!

abuseI absolutely love your writing style! This story brought me to tears. It was so touching. Poor Finduilas, to have lost her love to war. You brought out her emotions beautifully.

Once question, though. I'm not the most familiar with her story, but where did Turin fit into her life? I'm probably remembering it wrong, but I thought she had given her heart to him when he came with Gwindor to her home.

But thank you for writing this story. I'm glad to have the pleasure to read it, and others by you.

abuseWhat intrigues me here is that Finduilas truly seems to believe she has Gwindor's best interests at heart, while in fact her indecisiveness turns out to be a fatal flaw that in the end will kill her love and lead her to betray her beloved. In a way, her inability to take the final step shows that her love was never perfect to begin with - but what a price both of them have to pay!
It's interesting to note, by the way, that Finduilas's flaw mirrors Gwindor's: she hesitates too long - he hesitates too little.
Thank you!

abuseFinduilas is such a tragic character, and you capture her perfectly in this little snapshot. She really is her father's daughter, allowing a moment of doubt to sway her from what her heart knows is the right path. How things would have changed if they had been bound - I think if their fëar had mingled together, their love would not have withered the way it did. Perhaps she even would have sensed that Gwindor was still alive. Turin might not have been such a temptation to her, and perhaps Gwindor would have been able to oppose Turin effectively before the King.

Self-doubt is the monster that destroys Nargothrond, and your story demonstrates one piece of that. Finduilas' heartbreak is eloquently shown, and already we can see a glimpse of the Gwindor who will return to her.

abuseWhat an amazing story. You write the emotions of these two characters so beautifully, so that every moment is marked by their desire and need. Just wonderful

abuseOwch. That's all I can say. What a brilliant elf torturer!! Poor Gwindor, he finally gets free of Morgoth, goes home and Findulis falls in love with Turin, forgetting him. He is truly one of the most tragic characters in the Silm!
