KitKat1327 2009-11-20 . chapter 1I absolutely love this series. It's one of the most creative things I've read in a long time. You took J.K. Rowling's characters and made them your own in a spectacular way.
I absolutely love the mythology in this. It's very well thought out and interesting.
Your story is absorbing. I'm very much in love with Draco being an ice dragon. Chrysalis had me on the edge of my seat and I loved Draco's identity crisis. It was just and amazing thing to read and I know that I'm going to go back and read Chrysalis many times in the future.
I absolutely love your Snape. I love his story so much. For some reason I am much in love with the story of his cursed greasy hair and how Sunonice broke it. I don't know why, but it really stuck out to me in this fanfiction.
Usually I detest OCs because they are flat and boring, but I absolutely am enthralled with yours. Burd Helen is one of the most fantastic characters I've read, and I am just in love with her! She's quite awesome. Seriously, she's such an amazing character, and one of the best I've read.
Anyway, sorry for gushing. I am just in love your drama and humor and characters and plot. I'm so thankful to you for making such an epic, unique read. I love the Taniwha series very much! I know that I've been gushing a lot, but it's not just flattery, it's honesty. I'm not exaggerating when I say it's one of the best fanfictions I've ever read. Thank you so much for writing this! |
Jimbocous 2009-07-04 . chapter 25Great series of stories, I was sorry to see it end. A very fresh and unique look at the world of wizardry. Thanks for a great read! |
Marion Quixote 2009-01-16 . chapter 25This is probably one of the most beautiful stories I've read on this site.
Thank you. |
 CalliopeMused 2008-09-07 . chapter 25It's over?
Well, damn. That's all I have to say about it.
My only criticism is that it's easy to choose sides. Most authors choose to make the Gryffindors Good, and Slytherins evil. You've gone a different route, and left Sirius Black to Snape's descriptions. Sirius might have been a complete and total bastard, when he was in school... but if James had time to change, then why not Sirius? I know the series wasn't about him, but I've read two authors where both of the idiots can be sympathetic characters. (Robin4 and Jocelyn, I do believe.)
That said... I love this universe. I love the Ice Dragons and orcas and goddesses and the strange imagery. Some of the stories read like fairy tales, some are dark, and the depiction of characters can change with every scene. Charlie Weasley had at least four different characterizations, just in basics: the enthusiastic lover of dragons, the enthusiastic catcher of dragons, the defender of the Ministry, the repentant man. Each transition makes perfect sense within the story, and all this happened in the background of the main action.
Helen is still an absolutely amazing character.
Severus (Silkthatcuts? brilliant name), Draco, and Harry were all amazing.
I'm very sad that there isn't another story to go to after this one, but I'll read the rest again. Many thanks for posting these online, and don't let the publisher-creatures bother you. These stories are fantastic. |
kerplank 2008-01-13 . chapter 25i LOVE this series. it was amazing. really. |
thomas hobbs 2007-09-24 . chapter 1ok, review in right place this time. This series was brilliant. Thank you for writting it. It made me wish I lived in the south Island, (currently in Wellington).
I'm looking to go teach english in another country as well. Is tawian easy to get into? I only have a undergrad degree? |
Frau 2007-09-20 . chapter 25 Thank you for an extremely original, enchanting and enthralling trilogy! I believe your concept is the most original and well written I have had the pleasure of reading here on FF.
The setting in New Zealand and the tie-in of the elementals (and the 'sacred' place of Taniwha's pool) was fantastic. Please continue writing, I will look forward to (and read!) your further works. Thanks once again for your time and effort! |
 sdog 2007-08-29 . chapter 25SO INCREDIBLE I LOVED IT! |
piwqefjk 2007-08-29 . chapter 25This story's beautiful. I love the way it's written, and the ideas behind it - it made me cry at one point. And I love teh way you describe the beautiful ice dragons. |
ahomelesspirate 2007-04-25 . chapter 25Can I just say that that was fabulous? You have such deep creativity to your story- are not afraid to take it beyond the scope of the comfortable and really explore and challenge the characters in ways that never were presented in JKR world. Excellent job! I loved it! |
 gothic-hands 2007-04-20 . chapter 25good story |
t-me 2007-01-05 . chapter 25This was brilliant. All I can say is thank you for this wonderful story. |
SaffireSnake 2006-11-02 . chapter 24 oh, can you teach me the handshake |
SaffireSnake 2006-11-02 . chapter 15 *Jumps up and down*
Snape's amigus for is a WHALE! It is brilliant |
abraxis 2006-10-07 . chapter 25Oh, those bastards! Using Harry as 'gattor bait'! (Refference: mythical Americans, State of Louisiana, swamp humor). LOL
I was fascinated by SunOnIce but saddened that so little of Draco ever returned. He might have been a 'construct' but he was doing so well in maturing as a human that it seems such a loss.
I thought the idea of Severus hiding the elemental containing spells in his blood was a very creative touch. Presenting the logic of revenge breeding one's own destruction in this manner was genius.
Damn! I so hate to see such a witty, well written series come to an end. It was a hell of a ride and a good piece of education all rolled into one. Again, thank you for it. |
