ch 10,
abuseI was just complaining to a friend that I hadn't seen any really excellent Sark/Irina interaction, and now I find that this has been finished. It's wonderful, painful, bitter and satisfying at the same time, as if someone could be desolate and content at once. And it's Irina, always so far ahead that she's a will-o-wisp, drawing everyone on.

Marvelous lines here there, things that stuck in my mind.

*He was tempted to turn Miratomi's wonder, horrible formula on himself,* and *what good is redemption if you can't remember why you ever needed it? Better to work toward it with full knowledge of what you've done, if you feel the need to be redeemed.*

For just a brief moment, it crossed my mind that Irina might administer that formula to Sark, if he hadn't acceded to her. She didn't need to though, did she? She didn't need to reshape him, because she shaped in the first place.

Thanks for completing this and so well, too.

ch 10,
abuse//He envies her.

But not enough to give up what he knows; what good is redemption if you can’t remember why you ever needed it? Better to work toward it with full knowledge of what you’ve done, if you feel the need to be redeemed. He doesn’t, yet.//
I loved the simplicity coupled with the complexity of this whole chunk of lines... I think it honestly describes Sark's motivations better than anything I've run across before.

//This is the life he lives, and at least now he knows it’s better than the alternative.

That was probably her plan all along, too.//
Irina is one sneaky woman... Bittersweet ending, but I loved it... It makes no promises, gives no hope for a rosy future, and sometimes that's how it's supposed to be.

abuseDamn. That was great. I absolutely loved taking this journey with your characters. I never knew where they were going, but it was fascinating and heartbreaking and I just loved it.

And yes, I'm sitting in my office trying not to be weepy. But it's not of the "they didn't end up together, how could you?" variety. But just deep down sadness at where the characters ended up.

Beautifully told, thank you.

ch 9,
abuse*shakes head sadly* She never did take the well-meant advice doled to her by others... a pity sometimes... I just want to know where it takes her this time :)

abuseOh my. This is so beautifully told. I'm at a loss, really, to give a helpful critique. I just know what what moves me, and your writing definitely does.

Looking forward to see how Sydney's journey ends.

abuseFirst things first, yay! So glad to see this has been picked up again.

And, Wow! Wasn't expecting that. I think that's one of the things I really enjoy, I just don't know where the story's going and it's fascinating to just follow along. Beautifully written, as always. Looking forward to more.

abuseThis story is absolutely incredible. I love your style of writing -- sophisticated but not pretentious. The relationships among the characters are amazing. Please update soon!

abuseI love your story, some of it's a little confusing, but excellent none the less.

abuseI know that last line is spoken by her, but just the image of him saying that? Oh, that's an image to launch a 10 words somewhere... Almost want to say "typically Jack" of his behavior, but he's harder somehow. Sark is softer, Irina a little more careless, and Sydney... I guess she's still trying her best to preserve what precious little she started out with and really no longer has. An intricate story, one I love more with each new posting.
