Hi, this is Eskarina Smith on the UU board. :) Cute story! I always kind of wondered how Ponder could have grown up around naturey stuff _and_ lived in Ankh-Morpork TOO myself, actually. Since the two would seem to sort of contradict each other my answer is...write what you want, and it's as "logical" as anyone else's answer! :P
Anyway, of course I felt sorry for the poor little wizard-ling, Death's cameo was great, the names of the "games" they play, yada yada yada. There's really nothing more I can say that other people haven't said first. (shrug)

Poor PPnder. THis is great stuff, any plans to write more?

Clanker I loved it! This was a lovely balance between angst and comedy.
Two things which particularly made me laugh: "AArg" and "Surprise, you've just been hit by a large branch".
As for Ponder growing up in Ankh-Morpork...well, there's nothing saying he didn't go on vacations, so you're good.
I second the suggestion that you write more. So please do.

Good, especially for a first fic, is this a one off or are you intending to write more Ponder fics? I thought the cameo of Death was a nice touch. By the way, you may get more reviews if you change your settings and accept anonymous reviews.
