This is great! I love Hotohori reflection pieces. (I've written a few myself...) The language here is wonderful, and really does seem to fit Hotohori. A gilded cage. By the way, did you notice the many times Hotohori is compared to birds? In the beginning, speaking to Miaka, is a reference to birds. And again when he dies. The hawk (bird...thing) flys above him. (I considered it very symbolic.) Anyways, it was a wonderful story! HOTO HOTOHORI!

If you won't take this offensively, I found this piece much better-written than Yui's, most likely because the language was so much more fitting. Anyway, very beautiful and thought-provoking, like the other one ^.^
