Um, the boy sounds suspiciously like Tom Marvolo Riddle when he is young, could he have time-travelled and totally lost his memory?

It was written okay. You need to have more description when you talk about Jenna. Also, "She answered back in the querkilly exact but at the same time hilariously funny she usually did." It's too early in the story to establish how she always talks. I don't know. The story is pretty good, though.
