perfect 2005-07-19 . chapter 1 Aint I wonderful. I'm such a great writer. I'm the best writer in the whole world. |
Steelsheen 2004-06-08 . chapter 1Wow. This is pretty damn amazing. It actually made me laugh without being an all-out parody. That's an accomplishment.
.
There's tons of symbolism, too, in what they all see... I love Eomer's personality in this, and I also love how Grima speaks so eloquently - VERY in-character. I also love the "cloud accused of equine characteristics" line.
.
Adding to favorites. Yay...

I adore that.
Were they children together? |
Christina 2004-01-22 . chapter 1 I wish I could tell you how good this fic is. But I'm lost for words, so I shan't. It's brilliant, though. (I love the title, as well. Personal thing: it's also the name of the heroine of one of my novels.) Everyone, so wonderfully in character, showing just little traces of what they are going to become. I like the thought of Éowyn not being uncomfortable around Gríma, back then.
I do think Gríma should be older than the two, mind you, but since his age was never referred to in the book, I guess your idea is as true as any.
To sum up: great work. Very evocative. |
Sara 2003-12-23 . chapter 1 Cute. Very entertaining! The author needs to write more stories like this! |
Acharnae 2003-12-22 . chapter 1Really wonderful - I love the way you have with images, the way you use what different people see to give an insight into their minds: Éomer's singlemindedness, Éowyn's predication for swords, but also other characteristic and less predictable favorites like the raven, and Gríma's sense of dangers and hardships to come - the cold wind and the snow.
I like that girlish, but not too girlish way Éowyn takes up Gríma's vision and spins it out - I think you really managed to get into the way children delight in making up things, without overdoing it.
That (almost) last line, comparing the three of them to a cards in a pack before it is turned over, is just plain wonderful.
(From the book I thought Gríma was older then Éowyn and Éomer. Oh well, who cares.)
Added to favorites. Thanks! |

Speechless 2003-10-05 . chapter 1OOh! I love this story. The avalanche-garden-raven symbolism is beautiful and subtle enough to seem accidental. (I hate it when symbols are pushed at the reader. A pet peeve.) *applauds* Bravo, I hope to be reading more from you in days to come! |
Sub Rosa Draco 2003-10-02 . chapter 1Absolutely adorable! I love the way that you interpritated the characters' personalities through the shapes they saw in the clouds. ^_^
Great story - wonderfully in-character, and just the right length. ;3 |
samus18 2003-09-24 . chapter 1 I think it's sweet! I've never heard a story quite like that before. You should write more! |
Sliven 2003-08-13 . chapter 1Ah! This I like! Sweet story, with a touch of poetry added to it... I can picture it rather well, sun and the smell of grass... it's a pleasant picture indeed! Gríma's vision is interesting, if yo decide to write any more of this I'd be happy to read it! ^_^! |
Sulwen Undomiel 2003-08-04 . chapter 1 I'm too lazy to login! lol
