I've watched that film so many times and know the story inside out and I know you said it was based on the film, but to me it seems as though you've just switched it so instead of Marian and Robin having the romance it's Will and Helena. If you've seen the film it becomes obvious how the story is going to end. This will sound odd and after what I just said, but I do like the story! Keep going!

morgan le fey 2003-08-30 ch 4, anon.	abuseFirst up, I'd like to say that you've got an interesting concept here. I hardly ever see any Robin Hood Prince of Thieves fanfic, so this is very welcome. But alas, this story needs more work and backstory put into it. Questions that I thought about while reading this fic were: What sort of relationship did Helena have with her brother Guy? (You don't mention him by name which is rather strange.) How much older than Helena is Guy?(This can be an important factor in sibling relationships.) Some flashbacks to their childhoods together might help things, as well as add depth to both the characters and the story. Tell us more about how Guy feels about his little sister, and about how Helena feels about her brother. Also, I think Helena should mourn the death of her sibling a bit more, or you could hint that she's repressing her emotions about it, or just that the full weight of her emotions hasn't hit her yet. Also: How does Helena feel about her cousin George? In the first chapter she seems to love him and be loyal to him despite his faults, yet when she learns that he killed Guy (without any evidence to back up the outlaws' claims) she turns on him completely. I personally think this is too sudden. Also, how much does Helena know about the Sheriff's satanic worship and soothsaying? A little? A lot? Does she just think they're groundless rumors, or is she starting to believe they are true? What sort of relationship did Helena and her cousin have when they were younger? Again, more backstory, please! I also think you need to work on your grammer and spelling. You have an interesting idea here, but it needs some polishing. Don't quit writing the story, just think about it some more. Hope none of this was taken too harshly. ;)
