It really feels quite like what could have been the start to the tv show, however aside from the mention of bj's horrible marriage attempt I think its a very far jump from his movie character to be made in one leap. Even if he's not a villainous creep deep down, I really think that Lydia would need some sort of leverage against him to start the trust process. I'm inspired to write my own in-between story now.
