Wow! Utterly exquisite, heart-rending and touching all at the same time. There's been a few other fics dealing with the aftermath of Monica's abandoning David in the woods, but none quite like this, so well-written in such a small space. You capture Monica's voice excellently and you add a lot of details suggesting her back-story without crowding the story: it just sounds like her. Are you really Frances O'Connor in disguise ;8^) ?
