I liked the story and it still leaves me guessing who it was. The only thing that i noticed that was out of place was the last section of the story.

Ranma stood in the rain, waiting with the taxi as the nurse pushed the wheelchair containing his wife and daughter out of the hospital. His parents and his in-laws were just behind the nurse.

Ranma was smiling.

Everyone went into shock.

What did his curse have to do with the mystery person or the story? Was it a clue? That made me think that it was his cursed side as the mother but that had to be wrong. Right?

He his now a father and the curse is gone? Or did I miss the part where it was removed?

This is very well written, it gives a lot but it leaves the biggest question of who unsaid. I am leaning toward Kasumi in this one, for several reasons: I cannot imagine either Nabiki or Akane apologizing to Ranma for what they have done; nor can I believe that Cologne would apologize to either Nabiki or Akane for Shampoo's action of removing an obstacle. Lastly, I don't think either Nabiki nor Akane knows how to communicate nonverbally as well as Kasumi. However, Ranma lashing out at Kasumi seems a bit unbelievable, but given the unspoken circumstances it is possible, though highly improbable. However, following the same premise, any one of them could be the one.

well i think its akane b/c as many paople said both are drunk and if ur pregnant ur mood changes see: kasumi is sweet so that means when in pregnancie she would act mean, nabiki is money greedy so when she gets pregnant she wont be trying to blackmail anyone, akane is short-tempered so when she is pregnant she will be sweet.plus nabiki would never caress ranma even if she was pregnant kasumi might but i dout it, akane would do it b/c she is in love with ranma and so does him in return and he would yell at her for hitting him for yelling at him and for kicking him out so many times. and the aurther also said youngsters and plus ranma wouldnt be happy with another.^^

This is kinda funny actually... I read the story and held my opinion to myself as I read the reviews and was shocked at the many different ideas that people had on who it was.

However, from my point of view, you intentionally hid the 'mothers' name to entice all the different fans of Ranma pairings (well, Tendo wise)

Most people came to the conclusion that it was Nabiki *While I want to agree... there's something nagging at my mind* others saying that it was Kasumi *once again, can see Kasumi in there*, and even worse yet, people saying it was Akane *Okay,.. be honest,... a LITTLE possible*

Now,.. explain something... people see the pairing with whoever they want to see Ranma end up with. By you leaving the mothers name out, you created a paradox of possible endings.

Kasumi : Dutiful mother style of woman, yet still a woman who needs a touch of a man. Sure getting Ranma drunk might be a little much, but I wouldn't put it past her if she 'craved' the physical touch of a man.

Nabiki : The ever loveable 'mercenary' of the family. Sure, she could blackmail Ranma into doing something like this, but let's face it, he's too honourable for it. He'll save his first for a woman he loves. Thus, Nabiki got him drunk and forced his first onto her *nice touch by the way*

Akane : ... ah,... Akane... not much to say here, I despise her. However, after so long of not knowing a touch of a 'man' as honourable as Ranma. She saw him being drunk as a perfect oppertunity to get him without 'getting' him.

Now, you ask yourselves, why couldn't it be any of the other fiance's? Simple, you explained each of their reactions to the news, aside from Kodachi...

However, to end my rant, great story... leaves a lot to the imagination ^^.. Oh yeah, love this and 'handed on a silver platter' as well... hope you do an epilogue for it.

This is first off, a great story, no mispelled or forgotten words, which is a giant plus. It was told well, leaving little evidence as to who the mother is.

Personally, I think all three may have tried and took a shot at Ranma. After all, if it wasn't for alcohol, many of our parents never would have met and conceived us.

My opinion: This is following that all characters were not in any way OOC for this story.

I agree with the others that it is definitely not Akane. With her temper and reaction, as suggested when Neko-Ranma kissed her, she would have woken up, assumed Ranma had slept with her while she was drunk, called him a PERVERT, and attacked him. If it were, the parents would have automatically assumed that it was Ranma and started to seek him out and congratulate him.

Nabiki: I am leaning towards her because of the line "She admitted that she craved physical contact, and that she was unable to ignore her own biology." She has been the one to shy away from physical connections, as Kasumi has Tofu, Akane has the horde, but Nabiki never has anyone, except when Kuno thinks they are meant to be together (but she hits him as well when he says he will have her, Akane, and Ranko). She is often presented as the loneliest character with no outside interests other than making money, she was even dressed nicely in a kimono when Ranma was to first arrive. Given the fact that Ranma yelled at the woman, it fits into his pattern with Nabiki.

Kasumi: Had it been Kasumi, I doubt she would have been able to hide her feelings from the others. If Kasumi is feeling upset, everyone can tell, even the sisters. If she had slept with Ranma, she would have found the time to tell him, asked him not to hate her, and begged him not to allow it to effect his relationship with Akane.

But then again, all three were drunk, emotional, and maybe wishing to be like they were before their mother died. So, who truly knows, I do hope one day you tell us who you were thinking about as you wrote this story. E-mail it to me if you can and if any of my thoughts were on the mark. I'd appreciate it.

Interesting one-shot. I think it is Nabiki though. I honestly don't think Ranma would yell at Kasumi and would be more in shock. I also think Kasumi wouldn't actually hide it from Ranma I think unless Ranma and Akane actually confessed their feelings to each other. So unless that happened I don't think Kasumi could be a candidate. With Akane, I think she would definately be more vocal when she wakes up and sees Ranma next to her. Also, I think Soun and Genma would be celebrating if Akane seduced Ranma. Though Ranma is capable of yelling at Akane for something like this I would expect Akane to yell at Ranma first. Nabiki is the only one I could picture actually giving in to her physical needs and is the other Tendo sister that Ranma would be capable of yelling at.

Well, I gotta chime in with my two cents.

Personal belief? You could edit it to make it fit any of the girls.

Most likely? Nabiki. She brought in the alcohol, and is the least secure in her role in the Tendo Household. Since we have no idea where the money she earns goes, we're left with fanon to make up reasons. If what she earns doesn't go to the house, then she's probably a hypocrite for calling Ranma and Genma freeloaders.

Also, she's the only one who would probably sneak out of his bed while he's still asleep. Kasumi is too responsible to hide, and Akane would blow a gasket before calming down. Nabiki? Nabiki is THE most secretive of the bunch, meaning she's more likely to sneak in, have her fun, then leave.

Since Kasumi would already have faced the consequences, she's out of the hunt for hiding. Akane and Ranma would be drug to the altar by the Fathers as fast as they can, leaving Nabiki the sole secret keeper.

Fast forward to the finding out, and if Akane had somehow kept her sleeping with Ranma a secret, then the fathers would first assume that Ranma overcame his shyness and ensured the union of the schools. The instant she raises the possibilty that it ISN'T Ranma's, Soun would currently be crying a river when Ranma returns. If Kasumi, as the most reponsible person in the house, if she somehow manages to keep it a secret, she would likely fess up if she remembered sleeping with Ranma, which would probably lead to the celebration to end all celebrations, because Kasumi wouldn't be moving out after all. Therefore, if it IS Nabiki, she'd be most likely to be clammed up, refusing to name the father of her child or feigning ignorance to his name, because she wouldn't believe that it happened. Which would explain Soun's disappointment (Nabiki's refusal to tell) and the sisters' teariness (because Nabiki doesn't know who the father of her child is).

On the subject of Ranma finding out, what would Ranma verbally attack Kasumi over? "Damn you for being a surrogate mother to me, Kasumi, damn all those lovingly prepared meals you made me, damn you for making me feel welcome in your home." ? No. Ranma verbally attack Akane? Possible, but he'd have less reason to do it because he supposedly loves her the most out of all.. *gags.*

Oh, what about Nabiki? We talkin' about the girl who sold pictures of his girl half to Kuno, the girl who sold pictures of her own sister, the girl who repeatedly sold him to the other fiancees, the girl who played with his emotions like a fine tuned fiddle, the girl who constantly sells information to everyone else? The girl he'd have the most reason to hate and resent, to verbally abuse and rail against the most? Can't be her. -.-' That was sarcasm, btw.

So, pretty much yeah, it's Nabiki. If you go by the story as is without adding a whole lot of event, it's the Ice Queen.

It's not Akane. She would be screaming "Pervert" and pounding Ranma. Not to mention, as someone already pointed out, the "fathers" would be waving victory fans and congratulating Ranma on "a job well done."

It's not Nabiki. Can you actually imagine Nabiki "begging forgivness" for anything? Besides, I don't think she actually has biological urges...

It's got to be Kasumi... She's the only one who would show even the tinyest bit of remorse. Plus I see her as being worried about being an "old maid" at 20...

I have my own opinion on who it is, but I'll take a page from your book and leave them to myself.

The story was well written, and there were scenes that could be interpreted by any of the major fan groups to their girl of choice. (As a side note, I am a Setsuna or Kiima fan above all others.)

I also like the way you used the language to hide the girl's name, it is common to see the author highlight descriptive words (Such as saying the girl or the guy when referring to other characters by name, or my least favorite, saying it or something similar when trying to hide someone's gender. Sorry for the small rant). A trap that you seem to have avoided.

I do have to wonder what the girl's mother said to them to have such an effect. Perhaps a vignette is in order. ^.^

Interesting fic. Short answer: my guess would be Nabiki.

Begin long, boring answer:

Ranma would have never gone off on Kasumi, because...well she's Kasumi. No one yells at sweet, innocent Kasumi. Ranma would have been too shocked and confused to go into a screaming fit.

I don't think that Ranma would have yelled at Akane as well. She is the the girl that Ranma is most attracted to, and most likely end up with. He would probably be beating himself up more for letting it happen than blame Akane.

Ranma would yell at Nabiki. She had always exploited him every chance she got, so that does not really endear her to him. This incident would have been the proverbial straw.

As I was reading it - I thought Kasumi.

After reading and thinking for I bit I have to admit that I think it could be either Kasumi or Nabiki.

I just can't think of Akane in that situation.

I am bit biased I enjoy reading Kasumi and Ranma fanfictions.

well thats my 2 cents worth.

As much as im not happy to admit my idea (im a diehard RxA fan) I think it was Kasumi... because even though all three of the sisters need to feel loved... Kasumi is the one who let go of her own happiness for others, she feels the least appreciated.
I dont really think it was Akane cause he blew up at her and even though he came to love his new wife the narrative didnt have the passion it would have if it was her... just my thought.
