This is both hilarious and sweet.

It's hilarious because I read "Joy, Unspeakable" long before I read this piece, so seeing all the implied things in the original spelled out so baldly here (which is essentially the opposite vibe) is just too funny.

But...sweet, because this story has a charm that's all it's own. It's got a bit of a *Princess Bride* feel to it, with everything so simply explained and presented. And the same underlying sense of connection and love that you have in the original is also present here.

It is so very rare for any piece of writing to be able to be so radically altered and yet maintain the same character. I'm not quite sure how you did it, but however you did, it's an absolute gem.

You have a very interesting writing style. I like this story very much. You did an excellent job on their characters.

I'm a big fan of both of them two for over the past thirty years. It is a little different take on their early moments. Sarek I believe is a little unusal in his interest when it comes to women. And Amanda might feel a little embarssed in the situation.
