Oh, so cute! The last section was adorable and bittersweet. I certainly hope Pippin won't be going to Overheaven soon - though if he does, at least he'll have his pony. Wonderful work!

The whole thing was wonderful, although I must admit that the last one was very sad! (But very good, too, don't get me wrong!)

I really love these little pieces, they fit perfectly with Baylor's. Pippin being a sickly baby really brings out my mothering instinct. And Merry is a hero, caring for him like that.

Wow! You did a good job. I had read Baylor's writing and she always intrigues me with such flashes through someone's life and you did a wonderful job! Thank you!

you nearly made me cry and that's simply not fair, it just won't do. i can't have all you wonderful authors running about, writing these awful things that make me cry. baylor never fails to make me teary-eyed, and shirebound does the same thing, and now this! so bittersweet, so beautiful. i adore pippin so very much, especially when he's with merry, and this is just too sweet and sad and darling for me to bear. i absolutely love it.

These are beautiful, very lovingly written and the last one was a real tear-jerker. The young are so at ease with death, because they are of course immortal. Merry is slightly past that stage now, especially with the realisation that his older sisters died young, but he obviously does not want to inflict that on Pip. You sum up all the feelings in a few words so well.

I think this very deep-it's good and comforting almost, and I've read a few of Baylor's writings and this fits in extremley well with those.
I think it's good to write about the devlopment of Pippin and Merry's friendship and to write about their early years gives more backup to that and is done in a very convincing way.
This was a really nicley written piece and its nice to see people taking the time to create history and background to charecter's that we all know and love.

OK, it is not fair to leave us on such a note. The image of these two as little lads is too adorable for words and you have captured magnificently their personalities as children and the adults (or almost adult, in Pip's case) they will become. What I liked especially was how consistent the tone was throughout the drabbles. It is difficult to work emotion into a narrative style - Tolkien did it, and Baylor, and you. Beautifully written ... and now some bright, happy ones?

This is very heart touching. A fun and rather sad story. I'd love to see you do more.

You already know I love these, but I'll say it again. "Poor my Mer!" is still my favorite -- I can see and hear baby Pip in this moment. And the racing one, how Merry knows when it is time to quit, already showing those sharp instincts and care for his friends. Thank you for sharing these with all of us.
