charlie and lola 2005-12-03 ch 1,	abuseOk, what to say. I'm sorry to say that I dont love it, only because i love A/J. Its good but just wanted you to know that Tamora Pierce DOES like A/J. Thay were originally together but Tamora changed it for Alanna's happiness. So Jon and Alanna WERE meant to be together. Keep up the good work. JT lovers will appreciate it.

Captain Mab 2004-04-25 ch 1,	abuseYAY!! Jon/Thayet fic, how wonderful! I agree that Jon and Alanna just don't belong together, but Jon and Thayet do. It's lovely to read about their thoughts during that first meeting, which you have done a very very good job of showing. The dual narrative works very well and yes, I am impressed because it is very difficult to write that sort of thing and have it make sense. But I must say, I was hooked with this line: "Cats don’t talk and besides, that would be too obvious even for me." Perfect Faithful! I adore that cat, so naturally I love it when he has good catlike lines like this. About Jon: Thank you for describing everything he's thinking so well. Sometimes I have trouble understanding why he acts like such a jerk sometimes, and I'm glad to get this much more 3-D picture of him. The last line is beautiful and describes their love so well. About Thayet: You know, I didn't like her at all the first time I read the book. Then I read it again, and I read the Immortals series, and every time I met her I liked her a little more. Your writing of her, as a strong but unsure woman with that definite sense of humor, is spot-on to her characterization in the books and just makes me like her even more. I love how she sees Jon's nervousness, and can't resist looking at him. About my nitpicky obsession with grammar and spelling: 1. "Lionesses neck" needs an apostrophe 2. '"So mote it be." That was Alanna. The princess pushed the door open slowly, meaning to surprise her knight friend as George Cooper muttered, "here here." But as it swung open she realised that Alanna and George were not the only people in the room, "oh I’m sorry!" Her hands flew to her hair, which stuck out from her head in wisps and then to the dressing gown, which was, she realised mortified, very low cut and extremely see through, her night-gown clearly visible through the thin material.' You need a new paragraph every time someone new speaks. And Thayet's "oh I'm sorry!" is kind of... weird. I think you need a "she said" or something. 3. "cheep violet" cheap I'm sorry, I loved the story, but little errors drive me nuts and I can't help pointing them out. I'm a bit compulsive that way. ~Tempest

Cherry-Alanna 2003-08-03 ch 1,	abuseI;m sorry no! THAYET AND JON DO NOT LOVE EACH OTHER! No one could love that sorry excuse for a princess. They are the absolute worst couple ever! It was a crush for both, and one that faded through the years. Notice there never is any contact or love between the two of them; nor do they call each other directly by name. Thayet is vain, loves to hear herself complimented and consoled, no personality, no thoughts in her head, and what does she do that is so brave? Also, it disgusts me that she brought a 300 gold noble dress, ruins it, yet she fights for the right of commoners. Hello, that dress could have fed a commoner family for a year! Actually wait, SHE disgusts me. She knows she is 'supposedly' beautiful, yet she loves to hear people say it! (She asks Alanna at the ball.) And in PotS, tells Shinko to go 'easy on her', because she doesn't want someone to actually be better at something than her! Jonathan doesn't love her and he couldn't wait around for Alanna, his true love, so he settled for Thayet, because she understood his situation. Thayet's an okay queen, but Alanna could have done better--more rights and such for women, she was just scared, not sure of what she wanted. Thayet's character, to me, is Catherine Zeta Jones' character in "America's Sweethearts"-Gwen. The only reason they stay together is for the children, and their honor/reputation. I don't mean to flame, I just want to get my opinion across. Cuz Alanna and George are fun to to read. I never really thought, and still don't think, that Alanna really loved/loves him as he loves her. He loves her with every fiber in his existence, while she only has a fraction of love for him of what she felt for Jon. I'm sorry, but I wholeheartedly disagree with your little statement cuz JON AND THAYET ARE NOT IN LOVE!
