You know all those situations Snape had corned Harry into could by avoid by a simple erasing spell. All Harry have to do just erase Snape's memories in a quick session or when Snape is off guard. Or he could continue played it out by saying he had an oath while in that truth potion is at work. It's kind the frustrating seeing Harry blender all those times when it's sort of easy to get out from.

That sounds more like Neville Longbottom than Harry. If you're changing things that much, you need to write more background in order to justify it. As it is, it feels like you're starting in the middle of the story.

This is interesting, and i glad with all the new magics Harry isnt flawless, and i also like the slow deveopment of things like Snape, Hagrid etc. The gryphon returning to Hagrid and his response is cute. And when i read the self combusting book scene i just had to laugh :p
I like the elves characters and the way everyone interacts and the play of things. Its very descriptive, not too well used or over the top, makes sense (fantasy wise) and very good.
ooh and peoples response to Harry fighting Adara was amusing. Plus Firenze's words are very true, nice touch!

I had sought of guessed that you were losing inspiration on this one, it shows slightly in the last few chapters...that and its a year with no update. Which is a shame but I'm going to give you some ideas anyway.
1)Wizard's Magic could be the thing that would heal the elves that cant themselves, perhaps since its a black 'fog' Harry using pure Light magic could 'purge' the air of it or even the elves. And perhaps Mione and Snape using healing speels, and helping out means Harr adn them gte pardoned by the Council for being there/bringing outsiders there.
2) Through some external source it could be that Voldie sent that 'cloud' having discovered the threat these elves could pose...despite the fact that they havent yet. Or it could be more general and has affected them because of something else and not actually meant for them specifically. Considering there's a war going on we havent heard a hair on Voldie yet.
3)If 2 follows through you could take this to where Elves...or some of them help the wizards. I think tough we need some plan of Voldie's to come in, he must have heard Potter and had training so its only natural.

I like your story. I hope you update soon. There are multiple ways that the story can take off from here.

-Since there seems to be two different type of magics and one kind of magic is imune, perhaps the three humans can try to figure out an aspect of the human magic that is immune and share it with the ones who are sick (like a blood transfusion, or like one person sharing anti-bodies with another who doesn't against a certain desise.

-Another is that since there are two different types of magics, than healing potions and magics will differ for the two races. Perhaps a healing potions can be modified for the elves that wizards are commonaly in conntact with (which might be the reason for the immunity). A chance for Snap to shine.

-Another is a blood transufion. Blood is life's nectar, and it conatains a person's magic. SInce Hermain knows all the muggle types of blood donations information, the trio can try donating the seperated white blood cells with their imbeded traces of wizard magic which would act like a vaccination perhaps.


Anyways, hope this has somewhat re-inspired you. Hope to see some update :).

...Harry seems very stupid... is he supposed to? after learning so much and being able to detect Adara in the forest, he seems to slip up an awful lot and not be able to come up with a good excuse. and, really, why does he permit Snape to boss him around so much and to demand answers to personal questions. he has no right to snoop into his private affairs. strange mix of powerful!Harry and extremelystupidandslow!Harry... (i do think that your writing is very good, though, despite not liking your plot, which is just personal preference)
