I'm just a little bewildered on who the student is though... At first I thought it would be Yahiko... And it would be great but why am I thinking also of Sano... LOL! Great job for the wolf, he never would stop anyway.

*beams* wonderful! My English teacher would be thrilled to see such work! And truthfully, I haven't seen this type of insightful writing since Steinbeck (though Steinbeck was a little more drawn-out). Also,I applaud you on your characterization of Saitou. Very very well done.

intersting, i'm not a big fan of saitou bit i do think that he's a great fighter and he hass a lot of history behind him, as well as the mysteries of his personality can be fascinating. i liked it, he was in kept character. hope to read more, keep writing! oh, and pls look at my fics

I;m a big s/S fan, but these were nice little introspective peices even without the romance.

Though I think Saitou wouldn't kill the inhabitants of the dojo (not out of mercy but out of convenience. They weren't his targets). This is question of POV, and I respect yours.
Anyway, I really enjoyed your fic very much. This insight into Saitou's mind is deep and well done, very well written, with very interesting parallelisms and images. Really inspiring. Good to see good writers in fan fiction net for a change! (and three hurrahs when they write about one of my favorite 'bad boys'...

Great Saito fic. It's something I've never stumbled across occasionally around the Shinsen Gumi wolf man. I remember seeing this part of the manga quite well in my mind *all those cigarettes, man Saito scares me*. I think the characterisation here was realistic. Saito knows he won't be able to get his rematch with Battousai, seeing how things have changed, even he has moved on in life. My personal favourite line was "But in the end, though a wolf remained a wolf, and a Shinsengumi remained a Shinsengumi, a man-slayer could become a peaceful rurouni." The last sentence was really nice. Really REALLY nice. It just gave me this sudden reaction of thinking that this is the softer side of Saito. Well with the fugitive on the loose, looks like he could get another source of amusement ^_^. It's easy to imagine who he'll be going after now I guess.

Very nice. a well done one-shot fic.
